  4. Our club comp format will be as usual, start at 8am weigh in at 4pm the only change will be the weigh in is to be held at lake pier. Reason for this is that club gear ie scales etc will be at this venue. Club Kayakers can enter the open comp and also weigh in their fish for the club comp Hope that clarifies the matter but if there are any more questions please fire away Martin

  10. Two Mexicans are stuck in the desert after crossing into the United States, wandering aimlessly and starving. They are about to just lie down and wait for death, when all of a sudden Luis says......... "Hey Pepe, do you smell what I smell. Ees bacon, I theenk." "Si, Luis, eet sure smells like bacon. " With renewed hope they struggle up the next sand dune, and there, in the distance, is a tree loaded with bacon. There's raw bacon, there's fried bacon, back bacon, double smoked bacon .... Every imaginable kind of cured pork. "Pepe, Pepe, we ees saved. Ees a bacon tree." "Luis, maybe ees a meerage? We ees in the desert don't forget." "Pepe, since when deed you ever hear of a meerage that smell like bacon...ees no meerage, ees a bacon tree." And with that, Luis staggers towards the tree. He gets to within 5 metres, Pepe crawling close behind, when suddenly a machine gun opens up, and Luis drops like a wet sock. Mortally wounded, he warns Pepe with his dying breath, "Pepe... Go back man, you was right, ees not a bacon tree!" "Luis, Luis MI amigo... What ees it? " "Pepe.. Ees not a bacon tree. Ees . . . Ees . . . Ees . . . Ees . . . Ees a ham bush...."

We use ch6 for comms and I'm sure if you called up either one they would of acknowledged and kept an eye out for you after all thats what the club is all about. We were near the spoils and like many others had a very slow day. A few congers to Dean, pout and dogs with just one cod of 17lb 1oz to Charlie A Shame about your mate but never mind there's always next week

Hi Gino and welcome to both the forum and our club. I have updated your forum status to that of club member so you can now see the member only section. Niggle has given you spot on advice and if you would like an idea of which areas to be looking at you only have to ask. If you are new to our area it may pay you dividends to volunteer to crew on members boats, just keep an eye on the boat buddies section. Need any further advice then ask away on here Martin
  24. For booking in details read here The rules are 2 persons on each boat, the second person does not need to be a club member. You can fish any 7 hour period from 6am - 6pm this should allow those that launch and retrieve to pick a suitable period to fish. 2 rods max per entrant with a maximum of 3 hooks, a Penell rig counts as 1 hook so long as both hooks are in the same bait. If you say you caught it you did just remember to take the lowest consistent reading from your scales. Honesty is the name of the game and the club does trust its members BTW you can book in with any committee member. You can also book in on the day by calling on vhf ch6 calling "any Poole bay small boats" and book in with a committee member Martin
