  5. Hi Barney and welcome to our clubs site. If you need any advice just ask away our members a very helpfull bunch. If you wish to be a serious angler out of Poole or surrounding waters do your self a favour and join the best small boat A/C on the coast, membership really does pay dividends when learning Martin
  6. Thanks Dave Seems like our competition details are in need of updating, take a look http://www.pbsbac.co.uk/modules.php?name=C...showpage&pid=62 These are displayed on our fron page link Martin
  7. Dean and I will be out on Awol As I remember the rules are the same as all our competitions ie 2 hooks. This doesn't stop you having a full set of feathers as an atractor so long as only 2 hooks are complete with bend and point. Lures should not be enhanced with bait as it is a lure only comp. I would guess that the like of gulp is an added attractor and shouldnt be used but I am not 100% on that. Any clarification Adam & Co Martin
  8. We have been hearing a lot recently about the new proposed organisation that hopes to look after the needs of all disciplines of angling. If you want to know more about them take a look at their very informative website Angling Unity Martin
  9. You have obviously never run an open comp or you would know there is a huge amount more work involved than there is running a club comp. Martin
  10. Hi Mike ignore this method of ordering for now as the ordering process may be changing soon. Just put a post under the appropriate heading under the swap and shop section Martin
  11. Welcome back John I hope as before you become one of our active members Martin

  15. Mike The club uses the NFSA minimum size list with the NFSA wessex specimen list unless the local byelaws or national laws are greater (unlikely) then naturally they would apply Martin
  16. Wow Dave did you have any antifoul paint on the boat? if you did you should consider changing brand Martin
  17. Craig Generally no need to book in Weymouth for a berth. As you approach the harbour call up the harbour master on CH12 give a description of your vessel ie size etc and he will direct to to a berth more info at Wemouth details Not sure about Lyme regis but some info here Martin
  18. Welcome back Splash Out and of course Charliej Martin
  19. Simon Thats why we have a website and all the years competitions are on the front page under site content Competition details The idea behind having a competition on a Saturday was to try and please some members that due to whatever reason struggle to fish on Sundays. Seems like you cant please all the people all the time. The above statement is so unfair and so not deserved on a committee that try their hardest to please all. Also for your information even the local members have very little input into this sort of decision. The committee are entrusted to sort out the club calendar of events based on Tides and available dates and not to individual requests although they do try and accomodate members wishes Martin
  20. Simon I can confirm that the date on the calendar for this comp has always said saturday. I put it up there and and can confirm it hasnt been ammended in anyway Mrtin
  21. I will fish this one but will need crew, any takers Martin
  22. Dave I used to have one large annode fitted on the top of the trim tab as I didnt want one underneath causing drag Martin
  23. and having had experience of police response this could actually be a true story......is it? Martin
  24. So am I Alun The antics of some on there must put off so many new posters from joining in. Glad our forum is friendlier and easier to manage Martin
  25. To be honest you will find pack Tope at some point all along the bay, shore fishermen seem to catch a few but for our area you may need to travel a little further offshore to get regular success. Not the same with hounds though. There are a few marks in the solent that fish really well close in. With crab for bait that maybe a better target, they certainly pull your string Martin
