  10. Next Sunday 28th May is our first family day this year. Last year we had our first on the water gathering at Pottery Pier (northish side of brownsea island) 8 or 9 club boats rafted up and had lunch, a few drinks and the hardy had a dip in the briney then off for a cruise about. Excellent way to pocket some points The plan will be to get afloat by about 12, make contact on the vhf ch6 to see where we can gather, meet up and just play it by ear from there on in. Lets just hope the weather gets better in time and if it does Maverick will be out will you? Martin
  11. I believe next weekend is our first family day out so that would be no good. Best leave it as the 48hour comp. Trouble is we have such a busy calendar. Adam has emailed Burnham already so best not muck them around assuming they are not busy that weekend of course. Martin
  12. I agree Adam if we are fishing the 48 hour comp how can we buddy up with the Burnham lads. Some of us will already be out when they arrive. Also I don't feel that a Bream comp and specimen comp go together Would it be possible to look at the diary and see if we can fit the Burnham lads in a bit later on. Martin
  13. I think you will find that the NFSA insurance is a kind of public liability insurance cover although I'm not 100% on that. You might like to look at your household insurance that may cover sporting equipment some do. Martin
  14. We have had a good run of well over 2 years without any trouble but recently the site has suffered several attacks from the nasty element. Also a post recently deleted was trying to induce our members to go to sites that will inflict harm to their PC'S. To combat this we have changed several things one of which is the ability for guests to post on this forum. They can view certain areas but must register with a valid email address before being allowed to post. This is in keeping with the policy of most other sites. If anybody spots a post that looks suspicious please press the report a post button so that the admin team can check it out. Cheers Martin
  15. I'm so glad he didn't Martin

  17. We had 2 excusions out to the Rips last summer. The smallest boat in the little flotilla wa a raider 16, next a warrior 165, followed by Kams? and my Warrior 195. We picked the weather and had 2 brilliant days which we hope to repeat this summer. Fuel wise we all used around 70-80 litres so to be safe you would need to carry (or have carried for you) 100-120 litres Martin
  18. Dave Unless your going the marina route I would agree with Mike and Steve. Swinging moorings and unsecure berths are a pain in the butt. I must admit though I do miss the Marina berth, being able to just walk down step on and go does have its merits but not
  19. Ah well I'll just fish your spot then hey and no sharezies this week
  20. The winning duo
  21. Nice one Fred...not sure about the new nickname though Martin
  22. As I understand it the Burnham crews are fishing our Bream comp so Bream fishing it is (I could be wrong Adam will clarify). The guys from Burnham don't have Bream fishing up their way so enjoy going for them. As regards signing in, if you are only fishing the clubs Bream comp no need to, just phone Charlie or Peter as normal and then try to make contact via VHF or mobile on the day. If you are fishing the Burnham part of the comp then one crew member to sign in at Baiter and pay the
