  1. Hi Andy Glad you enjoyed your first adventure out in the boat and good to meet your good lady. BTW FPO stands for "fishing permission officer" We launched at about 11am from Cobbs with no mishaps and the only annoyance being some flash family with their new Range Rover, shiney boat and huge new Honda blocking the slip. They couldn't get the ob to start and decided to move the car adjacent the boat on the slip then connect up jump leads etc etc, why the guy couldn't haul his boat off the slip and allow others users full use is beyond me. Anyway other than the fact that we had to launch on the awkward side of the slip all went smoothly, even ere indoors handled the ropes impeccably, she

  8. Well predicted winds for sunday are westerly around 14/15 mph So it looks like the best places to shelter from the winds would be either South Deep (western side of Green Island) or maybe Studland bay which (good for ice creams and swimming ), as its a bank holiday weekend would probably be very busy. Any other ideas? Martin

  18. Next Sunday 28th May is our first family day this year. Last year we had our first on the water gathering at Pottery Pier (northish side of brownsea island) 8 or 9 club boats rafted up and had lunch, a few drinks and the hardy had a dip in the briney then off for a cruise about. Excellent way to pocket some points The plan will be to get afloat by about 12, make contact on the vhf ch6 to see where we can gather, meet up and just play it by ear from there on in. Lets just hope the weather gets better in time and if it does Maverick will be out will you? Martin
  19. I believe next weekend is our first family day out so that would be no good. Best leave it as the 48hour comp. Trouble is we have such a busy calendar. Adam has emailed Burnham already so best not muck them around assuming they are not busy that weekend of course. Martin
  20. I agree Adam if we are fishing the 48 hour comp how can we buddy up with the Burnham lads. Some of us will already be out when they arrive. Also I don't feel that a Bream comp and specimen comp go together Would it be possible to look at the diary and see if we can fit the Burnham lads in a bit later on. Martin
  21. I think you will find that the NFSA insurance is a kind of public liability insurance cover although I'm not 100% on that. You might like to look at your household insurance that may cover sporting equipment some do. Martin
  22. We have had a good run of well over 2 years without any trouble but recently the site has suffered several attacks from the nasty element. Also a post recently deleted was trying to induce our members to go to sites that will inflict harm to their PC'S. To combat this we have changed several things one of which is the ability for guests to post on this forum. They can view certain areas but must register with a valid email address before being allowed to post. This is in keeping with the policy of most other sites. If anybody spots a post that looks suspicious please press the report a post button so that the admin team can check it out. Cheers Martin
  23. I'm so glad he didn't Martin

  25. We had 2 excusions out to the Rips last summer. The smallest boat in the little flotilla wa a raider 16, next a warrior 165, followed by Kams? and my Warrior 195. We picked the weather and had 2 brilliant days which we hope to repeat this summer. Fuel wise we all used around 70-80 litres so to be safe you would need to carry (or have carried for you) 100-120 litres Martin
