  4. After the 48 hour comp and me fishing all that week end I felt I should stay at home and give ere indoors some time Well I decided to do some of the jobs on the boat that you just never seem to get around to at least I don't One of those jobs was to inspect the flares and check them over, ooops out of date and it seems like only yesterday when I replaced them. Also changed the fire extinguisher which looked ok but had been on the boat for 6 years Anyhow decided to try the old one to see what they go like. Pulled out the safety pin, pulled the trigger and put put put it hardly came out so that was a good job done. Me horn is also playing up so looked at it
  5. Hard luck on the weather Les. Good to hear from you, see you soon Martin
  6. Rich Look forward to reading your article Martin
  7. We are looking to increase content on this site to make it even more attractive than it already is. To this end are there any members/visitors/guests suitably literate who would be prepared to put articles together or indeed anyone who is not literate but has the ideas and can do draft articles that could be polished up by others? (Guests you will have to register to respond but it is free!) Articles could be stories or information based about fishing (obviously) boating, mechanical, electrical, how to, what if, we can, would you, fact, fiction in fact anything that is entertaining or informative about our sport and associated skills. Any budding pen pushers out there? Martin
  8. Nice one Gordon Back to reality and 4oz pout Martin
  9. All the best Charlie, hope you had a good day. Where you bin? were missing you Martin
  10. I was anchored one evening out of Poole quiet happily fishing away then in the distance Barfluer appeared on a heading directly towards Maverick When he was about 2/3 miles away I called him up on the vhf and explained we were anchored in his path, the french guy came back and acknowleged he had seen us and that he would alter course which he did. I was a little worried about contacting him and did think about slipping anchor but the captain was very cordial. A bit long winded but the answer to your question is yes call them up but do also have a back up plan ready, just in case! Martin

    Urgent

We are having a stall at the Poole Afloat show. There will be a couple of A boards with photos of either boats or fish or both, that is if you have any Please either email your photos to me ( no more than a couple at a time please) or put them on a disc and bring to the meeting Or better still if you save me a job and print them on A4 size paper Cheers Martin
  16. Some cracking specimens there lads (and lasses). Well done to all who entered and a special well done to Paul D on a cracking Bream. Thanks to Bob F and Adam F for organising the week-end and for ordering in the weather, what a cracking week-end it was. Only one problem, you forgot to tell the fish where I was Martin

  18. Well Done Mike, you must learn to get the kids to catch, that keeps em interested Martin
  19. Our november open and all other specimen sizes are based on the NFSA (wessex region) specimen list. I think there was a link on our site or was it on our old site? Martin
  20. No you can't Either of the two spots you suggest should be good. Southbourne will have less tide so may be more comfortable fishing (lighter) but whitehouse grounds does offer a large variety of species and options The choice is yours Martin
  21. The reason specime weights changed was that the NFSA updated there list and as we use their specimen sizes we updated ours (I think ) Martin
