  1. Mikes Back and on good form Martin
  2. I would say if you are fishing from your boat, whether it is on the pontoon or away and that the fish in question is landed on the boat and not the pontoon you are boat fishing. Charlie? Martin
  3. Hi all This is a part of the forum that has'nt had much use since its formation. Hopefully this will change now that our comps are starting. The first species hunt of the year is on Sunday April 18th. Dont forget we are registered with the Boat Fishing Magazine so not only are you competing against your fellow club members but your against other clubs. There is a chance that if you reach the finals you could win a brand new outboard motor (see BFM for details) Your club also benefits if you win so give it your best shot Martin
  4. Cheers guys I have emailed a link to the member so he can follow this thread Martin
  5. Adam is correct If your machine is displaying the incorrect time when you visit this board then click My Controls just beneath the Tacklebargains logo, Scroll down to the options panel and click on board settings, tick the daylight saving check box, click on Change my account options everything should then be hunky dory as they say Martin
  6. Bass are very slow growing fish and do not mature for many years. Those small 2/3lbers may have to survive a further 3 years before they start breeding. I'm sure Bob during his species article development will research this and let us know the exact breeding cycle. Martin
  7. Adam The slip at Weymouth is usable at all states of the tide so no problem there The trip to weymouth with a boat in tow is around 50mins coming home might take longer because of the traffic. How does 7am at the slip sound? Martin
  8. Adam This is a subject that could be discussed at one of our meetings. We are free to set our own size limits although at the moment we abide by the sizes laid down by the NFSA. My own personal opinion is I would rather members kept smaller, legal size none breading stock than take the larger breeding fish. What does everyone else think? Martin
  9. Hi The full crew on Maverick will be Me, Bob Horne and Peter Russel senior What time does everyone else want to set off, weather permitting of course Martin
  10. Hi all I have had an enquiry from a member re berthing in Weymouth, does anyone know who he would contact to get info Thanks in anticipation Martin
  11. Hi Bob Thanks for posting that Well its a start and well done to the environment agency for prosecuting. The NFSA is the only organisation that will persue the needs of anglers, are you all members yet? Martin
  12. Hi Adam Let me have a look, oh go on please I cant wait untill next sat please, doh alright then I suppose I'll have to wait I'm very pleased for you, the feeling you get when you pick up a toy as big as a new boat is fantastic. ENJOY!!!! Martin
  13. Adam This is true and if your only buying one item then go to your local shop they will be cheaper. However if you buy enough even with the cost of p&p this site is very competitive. The added bonus as Paul pointed out is the club gets commision on all purchases made via the link on this site. I have just placed an order for a load of braid so will report on the service and quality of gear supplied. Martin
  14. I noticed on tacklebargains they have Storm lead head shads @
  15. 1 week 2 days and counting Martin
  16. Hi Newboy I agree with what Adam has stated above. Much smaller than 10hp and you wont move to far especially against a tide. A 30hp engine will probably give you around 14/15 knots, maybe less when loaded up. The boat should be able to take up to 50/60hp With regards to the boat it is definatley a shetlandsuntrip Martin
  17. Adam It doesnt matter where their going to spend most of the time, what matters is that they will be in gwo if they are required. The pics dont look to bad to me, very similar in design to others on the market at an excellent price. I would probably rather see one in the flesh before I purchased one. Martin
  18. Hi Adam We already had a thread for the Shambles trip but as you would like to re-start and so as it doesnt get to confusing with peeps posting in both sections I have closed the other thread. Put Maverick down for definate I have Bob Horne for crew and pos one other not confirmed. Martin
  19. Hi Paul I'll have 5 tickets pay you Thursday (you might have to remind me though) If you think this is a worthy cause you could put them forward by way of a proposal as a possible recipient of a share from our November open? Martin
  20. Tony at Select Marine is a mariner agent he to provided a prize in the club open boat competition Martin
  21. Hi all Yep the fishing was us but the company was good. I wouldnt say you motly lot made up for no fish but you went part way there Any how at least the Hayling link can at last die (dont post there anymore I have closed it) and I for one am looking forward to our shambles trip on sat 10th April, bring it on Oh and cheers Peter for cheering us all up, I did actually mention to the cabin boy about Shambles but it was decided to keep Loyal Royal company on her Maiden voyage. All in all a pleasant day Martin Ps did you fish today Peter
  22. Well done Adam I'm sure the wait was worth it Look forward to seeing Blue Warrior on the 10th April from weymouth Martin

  24. All We have a consensus (if thats how you spell it) don't you just love it when a plan comes together. Also I'll be glad when this thread ends Martin
  25. Hi Bob Yep no probs except I will get to the slip around 9.00 BST to prepare and launch at about 9.30. We can all keep in touch on the usual vhf channel and meet up at some point during the day. For my part I will probably try the swash or piers and beyond Is that ok for you Rich Martin
