  1. Yep i would go along with the mechanic and Duncan on that one. Your rubbing strip is just what is says it is and not structural in any way. Martin
  2. Newboy Glad you had a good day. You can report anything fishy on the forum as it is of interest to members and visitors alike. You cannot however record fish in the club fish book as anything caught on a fair paying charter boat is not allowed. There are more rules than that governing what fish are and are not allowed but you will learn this in time. Martin
  3. Damn Rapala pro guide scales same as mine, I wuz stitched up again ma lud paid 40 quids for mine Bargain on ebay 29.99 Martin
  4. Well done newboy Clever git Martin
  5. Duncan I would agree with the points you make on Poole and your reference to Cannes. Pooles a beautiful place supposedly, trouble is most locals cannot afford it! However being a petrol head I havent really been following the diesel saga but can sympathise with you. We (petrol users) already pay top whack so know what you guys would be hit with. A seroius whack in the wallet! Martin
  6. Cheers for the info Peter just as I suspected
  7. Duncan That equates to around the same fuel a I use so pray that your gov or the eec don
  8. Paul 26 miles out approx + 26miles back + drifting up and down say 26 miles (hopefully not that much) gives a total mileage of around 72 miles which equates in my boat to around 18 galls which at
  9. Mark I would probably drift the rips but would be guided by more experienced members who have fished the mark before? Martin
  10. Charlie Talking to Mr. Caines on our recent trip that you might of heard about, he said that the pollock are on the channel marks first with cod coming in a little later and that the next week or two should see their arrival. So fingers crossed that he is right as I have enough Pollock in the freezer. Adam any date for me is fine except for club comps which I will be fishing in preference to other excursions. Martin
  11. Hi I have Rapala electronic scales, they are very good although it is difficult to get a true reading on the boat as they are quite sensitive. Still better than the cheap spring balance kind though. I paid around
  12. Adam I think you'll find that the week-end of the 12th, 13th June is our 48 hour specimen hunt Martin
  13. Tides for Sunday 6th June at Poole entrance Low water 0640 height 0.4 High water 1259 height 1.94 Low water 1909 height 0.62 as Newboy says quite large tides Martin
  14. 26.38 miles from my house Half way to Alderney huummmm Martin
  15. Hi Adam Yep I am up for it. I would launch from Poole, I think it is slightly more than 20 miles but will check that. A mid tide would be best to avoid the worst of the chop given by big tides on marks like this. A smaller tide would also save us on fuel as you would probably want to drift this mark for cod + pollock etc. Who else is up for it? Martin
  16. 1 kilo = 2.2lb
  17. If you decide to move your axle a little tip to help keep everything square is to mark the current position with an indelible marker pen. That way you can be sure that both sides of the axle are moved the same distance. The other advantage of marking the current position is that you can relocate the axle in the origonal place if needed. Martin
  18. Hi Mark Yes we caught fish on Storm lures on Tiger Lilly, I for one caught the biggest pollock on Tiger Lilly at around 12lb on the first wreck we visited. Several pollock and pout were caught using them. I will definately be giving them a real go on Maverick Martin
  19. You can adjust the nose weight by moving the axle. Most axles are just bolted in position so a few bolts undone move the axle then do em up again. This is more awkward than moving the boat up and down the frame to get the required nose weight but your boat does stay in the manufacturers suggested area. Martin
  20. Adam you have an email Martin
  21. Do you have a best side Rich Martin
  22. Sorry Rich no caps yet but I will puit one aside for you when the new order goes in Martin
  23. Hi all The trip over was brilliant albeit a little rough no one ill!. This is the first time I have wreck fished seriously. We gave the Wild eye Storm shads a thorough trial and can report that I am a convert; I will be trying these on trips from my own boat. The first wreck we fished saw pout and Pollock coming over the gunnels. I achieved my PB Pollock of around 12lb on this wreck (those who took photos could you send them to me). Wreck no 2 gave up more Pollock and Ling. We then made our way to the island and drifted a few miles of the island but not much there. Arrived at the island and made our way to the accommodation which looked a bit iffy on the outside but wow anglers
  24. Cheers for the sympathy lads, we are all back safe and sound. In spite of the weather it was thoroughly enjoyable. I think most of the other guys that went enjoyed the experience as well. We are already thinking about next years foray. I am totally kna@@ered so will up date you fully later Martin
