  1. They tell me that 70 is just a number. Allan.
  2. Hi Colin, you have a pm. Allan.
  3. Happy Birthday Dave. Have a good one. Allan.
  4. With no crew being available am. (One had been fishing five consecutive days) due to exaustion and a possible excess of the red stuff, I left Cobbs around 4 pm. Our aim was to get away from the crowds and four rock marks beckoned. We were in search of the elusive Rock Cooke. In my view, this highly prized species is locally now one the rarest wrasse. It has a dark band on its tail and can easily be confused and misidentified. Our hopes were high, but after catching around a hundred wrasse and loosing tackle, we gave up and called it a day. No Rock Cooke this time. The search goes on. The evening was to be a short local Sole Trip for an hour or so. Our chosen spot has produced quite quickly over the last couple of years. The tide was perfect, but rafts of surface weed hampered fishing. A good number of checkers were caught and the Dave had three nice Flounders between 1.5 lbs and 2 lbs.which were returned. Nice fish for this this time of the year. The Sole will have to wait for next time.It was a perfect way to finish a beautiful sunny weekend. Allan.
  5. Dave, do you have the picture of the boat? Nice to see you finally "pulled" the Trigger despite my best efforts. Allan
  6. Fisheagle results. Seven sizeable fish landed. Dave Lynes. 4lbs 12ozs. Keeper 5lbs 8ozs returned Allan Green. 4lbs. Keeper. 5lbs 8 ozs returned. Allan.
  7. What feels like a weekend "Fishathon" has one day to go if the crew manage to make it tomorrow. Canicular weather, a surfeit of fish and esteemed company. What more could one ask? We decided to fish the Bass Comp. On Saturday Morning and a quick 30 knot trip across the Bay on a flat sea, found us on our chosen mark around 9.30 am. Seven sizeable fish were landed on both lure and livebait in the next hour or two with smaller and lost fish taking us into double figures. We then returned to Poole and played about in various places hoping for Plaice and an elusive Trigger. Fish were plentiful, but most of the Plaice caught were on the small side, no Triggers but plenty of jumbo Mackeral. The Emergency Services had a real day of it around Poole dealing professionally with multiple situations simultaneously. In the afternoon, an injured climber at Dancing Ledge, two back to back medi vacs by helicopter, an injured elderly gentleman on True Blue which caused her urgent return to Poole. Then there was a sunken speedboat with four passengers off Sandbanks (pics to follow). This was interspersed with something like 14 Pan Pans. We lost count of the numerous calls to the now defunct Portland Coastguard and the incessant demands for radio checks. Our admiration goes out to them. Sunday saw us trying for a mixture of fish. Coddy and I did well, but Golden B__ll__ks, namely DL excelled himself. Nearly 20 different species on his own including eight Plaice, Undulate Rays to 14 pounds, Conger and the elusive Trigger Fish.
  8. Hi Mel had a 520 which I used to launch from Baiters and Cobbs. Now have Fisheagle based at Cobbs. Will be out over Saturday and Sunday maybe even Monday. As always, we are on Channel 6. Hope to see you out there. Allan.
  9. Fisheagle on Saturday with Allan, Dave L. and possibly Frank Morris.. Fisheagle on Sunday with Dave S. fishing competition and Allan and Dave not fishing comp.
  10. Hope you have a great day, see you out there. Allan.
  11. Left Cobbs around 2 pm. with Dave L on board, the other crew member having opted out a few hours earlier. The promised weather forcast did not materialise and condition late afternoon were a tad uncomfortable. Fishing was good and some 6 different marks were tried with half outside the harbour. Our main target were plaice and we kept three good keepers around 2lbs. and smaller fish around a pound being returned.being returned. Around a dozen species were caught including seven gurnards, six tubs and one grey. So plenty of small stuff to keep us interested. I am still waiting for a red for the Species Comp. Despite feathers being out most of the time, only one mackeral was caught which was very disappointing. Allan.
  12. Well done on getting back safely. Hope the problem is soon resolved. Allan.
  13. Don't see you now you are not on F Pontoon. Have a good one. Allan.
  14. Took Sophie and Curtis Driver with their Dad Paul for the first leg of the Junior Comp. Between them they managed a very creditable 16 species, which, given the flat tide and often troubling weed was a very good outcome. A shame the sand smelt and dragonnet didn't count as they are not listed on the score sheet. Another bit of bad luck, Sophie's bass was about 10 mins.after the 3pm. cut off and a similar hard luck tail for Curtis who landed a nice plaice a few moments late. The latter two fish coinciding with the tide just starting to kick in. No doubt Paul will soon be along to guild the cake and add some nice pictures. Pity we couldn't get a decent one of a young seal eating the flatties just out of Cobbs. Allan.
  15. Went offshore to 140 plus feet hoping for a turbot or brill. Reasonable no. of fish, but no target species. Moved onto Sadler for a few hours. Waste of time. Nothing to report. One of my crew now not only needs an anchor management course but also an anger management course. Could the Club organise one? Allan.
  16. 11. Holy Mackeral Yann Tryska and Frank Morris. Saturday.

  20. Fisheagle now has Rich S coming. Both of the areas Dave has refered to will be visited. We will be having a late start from Cobbs around 9.15 am. You are welcome to join us. Give Fisheagle a call on Ch 6. If you want a buddy boat. Allan.
  21. Fisheagle would hope to be out, but is struggling to get crew. Could finish up 8 miles out for an hour or two then on the Sadler. After that? Next weekend's tides look good for offshore if the weather holds. As always, on Ch 6. Allan.
  22. Happy Birtday Charlie, have a good one. Allan.
