  1. Always a quality report and pictures with a good variety of fish thrown in. Sounds like another very good day.
  2. Should keep the trawlers out of the Bay.☺ Allan.
  3. Paul, sat up in Birmingham having a pint and reading the reports. Looks like you won't want to slum it on Fisheagle too much now.☺ Allan.
  4. Really pleased you have been offered a trip out. Look forward to hearing how everyone did when We get back. Allan.
  5. I have taken Paul and his son out more than once and his son won this year's Wessex Junior of the year. Hope Paul doen't mind me saying that he lost his 28 footer from North Haven in the big storms a few years ago. Neither of them are novices and are both as keen as mustard and house trained. I am up in the Midlands settling some of my father's affairs after his funeral until the 20th/21st. Otherwise I would have helped. They have their own lifejackets, rods etc. Allan.
  6. Chair gone to Brian. Mobity scooter still available. Allan.
  7. Good luck Matt, hope it all works out. Allan.
  8. Liverpool lads used to use old fridges and freezers and fill them with things, especially old bags of cement etc. The Welsh trawlers soonstopped fishing the Mersey. Allan.
  9. Brian, you have first refusal on the chair. Allan.
  10. I have one of these which I need to dispose of very quickly. It has two motors, was I believe recently PAT tested and in working order. It will need collecting from Poole. There are similar on ebay for £300 plus. Free to a good home. It breaks down into two parts for transport. Donation to RNLI. Also, 4 wheel Shoprider mobility scooter 5mph. With charger, lights, basket, bag. Worth over £200 on ebay offers around £120 . Lightly used.Collect Broadstone, Poole. Tel Allan 07758356474.
  11. Many thanks for the offer. May get back to you once I have explored a few other possibilities. Allan.
  12. Just on the off chance before I start chasing round, does anyone have an o ring that will fit an Airmar P79 Transducer? Also, one of the long bolts that holds the top on? The o ring comes as part of a fixing kit which has base fittings and lots of other things I don'tneed. Both items were left off by my "professional" when he resited and replaced the item under warranty. Grenham Regis have suggested PMS for the o ring others Ashley Power. The trouble is without taking it off the boat it is difficult to measure. Allan. Airmar seal.pdf
  13. Hi Elliot, I have had a 755 MF Marlin for nearly two years and until recently was at Parkstone. Welcome to the Club. Probably know the positives and negatives (very few) of the boat as well as most and have seen all the factory updates since my purchase in 2013. Hope to see you at one of our Club Meetings and hearing how you enjoy your new purchase. Please PM if I can be of any help. Allan.
  14. Many thanks for the report Dave and well done on your first Cod. A good day out and all part of the learning curve. Nice to try something different for a change. Looking forward to fishing one of the other new areas we have talked about and thanks to the crew for their help and a nice clean boat. Sorry you didn't all get free drinks at the end of the day as we didn't quite get enough new species. Allan.
  15. Your reports and exploites put the efforts of mere mortals fishing from boats to shame. Always well illustrated and inspirational. Maybe someone will come up with the idea of the greatest contribution to the catch report section. You and and others help to keep things fresh and alive. Allan.
  16. Very interesting read and all part of the learning curve. You were certainly knocking on the door! Allan.
  17. Much fresher and inviting. Gives a real, almost live picture of what is going on. Allan.
  18. Can't make this week, but would like to buddy up if weather, tides etc fall into place over the next few weeks. Good luck. Allan.
  19. Well done, will be out somewhere tomorrow so we may say hello.
  20. Too late now. Have put the bacon and sausages away for next time. Allan.
  21. May have a space or two for Tuesday . Leaving and returning to Cobbs. Local and few miles off Swanage. Mixed fishing and hopefully a few bream and rays. Allan.
  22. Many thanks for the report Dave and the invaluable assistance. As you say, one of the more interesting days. I have made up a slightly longer bridle, but after yesterday, I don't want to use it too often. I had several observations about yesterday. The swell in the harbour and hight differences of the two boats made lashing alongside impossible untill we reached calm water. Fortunately, Frank had paddles on board and that allowed them to beach the boat in very shallow water by the Fisherman's Dock Slip. He was aware of a problem on his recently purchased engine in the morning when he got a low voltage alarm. The radio also started to be erratic at the same time. Happily, he had a back up. He has 50 hp motor on his Raider, how many people with a similar set up have tried to start their engine with a cord? He bought a new battery today, but it could well be the rectifier or alternator.
  23. Welcome, hope to see you out there soon. Allan.
  24. You showed me the demo the other day. How portable is the "fixed"transducer if I wanted to try it out? I know you say there is a portable version but would like to see your version in action on Fisheagle before doing anything. Who makes it? Where are they based ? Any chance of a demo from them? Allan.
  25. Left Cobbs with Hooky at 10.15 to catch the 10.30 bridge. Our start was much later than expected due to unforseen circumstances. Our plan was to try for a few species. We caught a good number, but most were already on the list. The only new ones were a Goby and Baillons. The Bream on the Patch were quite hard to catch and on the small side. Overall, we had nothing special, but, as people say, it was better than working. We moved into Swanage Bay and then tried the Harbour. In both cases, the unexpected strong cold wind and heavy weed beat us. There were not too many mishaps, apart from the anchor snagging twice and taking an eternity to trip. The final straw was when we were holding position for the Town Bridge. We were inches from being backed into by the Pilot Boat that pulled out behind us and seemed unable to engage forward gear. Many thanks to Hooky for his help and constant banter. I look forward to doing it again, but under better conditions. Allan.
