    braid to mono

With heavy leaders you can use a lighter to melt it in to a blob at the end and then tie a whipping / knot less knot around the leader and slide up to the blob. It is how beach casting guys attach their 15lb line to 80lb shock leader: http://www.ultimauk.com/sea/knots/Blob.php Rob

  8. 10 litres of water off of a measured amount of 50 litres of fuel, seems an awful lost as Ian says. Obvious answer is.........measure the amount of fuel left in the tank accurately (assuming the 10 litres is an accurate measure of the amount of water removed), if you're left with 40 litres of fuel, you are correct that is is an ethanol issue, if you still have 50 litres of fuel you have a water ingress issue, simples I think!!! Fishfinder advice

Just be aware and ensure we are talking the same language. "Thru" hull as the yanks like to call it means a hole in the hull and the transducer is on the underside of the boat. A true skin fitting. Transom mount is as we all know, the standard transducer that comes with many units, for external mounting on the transom. Here, through hull, tends to mean, a transom mount transducer sending and recieving through the hull material (grp etc). Often mounted on a bed of silicon, plasticine, epoxy or in an oil filled reservoir. Hope that helps, Rob

    Fishfinder advice

I expect it looses signal as you are getting air between the hull and water, try setting it further back or maybe someone with the same hull can advise. If you are on a wet mooring then in hull would be prefered! Rob
