  1. I would like to book in please. Rob
  2. Charlie, I know Nick's brother had a similar prob with his Scubby - it was the oil seal on the end of the crankshaft - I think it only leaked when running. I also had a similar issue on the old Golf . But with the water pump - the thing lost water when being driven but was OK when parked - I though it could have been the head gasket as no water was ever left on the drive. But in the end I lifted the bonnet with the engine running - when it got hot it sprayed water from the bearing in the pump, but as soon as the pump stopped with the engine it would not leak. Rob

Here is a pic of the chosen and well used lures - (the crisp packet was destroyed by one hungry cod)!
  12. Well Charlie A and I set out of Mudeford just about 8am and soon met up with Enticer. We caught mackerell quite quickly and Charlie used his luck on managing 3 pollack and a pout in the haul! Having the bait well onboard we got slightly distracted by trying for Bass but the wind \ tide combo didnt make the drifts as I wanted. I think we could have put in more effort but we were really enjoying ourselves. Charlies lucky Bass: We headed in at 13:00 as the wind picked up and we both had engagements to keep! Cheers Rob

    Smart Tabs

When I bought JoJo she had a set of DoleFins attached to the cavitation plate. I had found that with wrong trim setting it can make the whole going fast experience very twitchy and high speed turns it could dig in and almost tip over! Not fun to find out at 30knots! I did remove the DoleFins and the stability had returned but I could no longer get on the plane @ 10 knots, which is useful for Poole Harbour. Therefore I thought I would investigate getting some SmartTabs as a cheap solution and ditch the fin. Well they arrived Saturday all the way from the good ole USofA. And knowing I was going out on Sunday I found a spare 45 mins to fit them Sat night in the dark. Well initial testing was very positive - I think I need to play with the adjustment as the bow was a little flat\low at speed but overall I was pleased. They are the new plastic\composite version called the SX range and were

Nice one - I can advise everyone that when this beast is running straight for you for a "photo oppourtunity" it doesn't half get big quickly through the view finder of a camera. No need to zoom in - just wait half a second! Nice fish simon - Charlie A manged one of about 5lb on JoJo , nothing for me! Rob

This all stemed from when I repaired some maccy feather shiny bits with some strips of Doritos (cheese) packet strips! Alun found them quite amusing. Therefore I thought I would make a BIGGER version for the cod. I made a couple with a foil based NicNak packet (Scampi and lemon) and these looked good and then thinking that brittle stars were bright yellow (though now I know they are more dull orange\brown) what could I use that was yellow and tough! Argh - old gardening marigolds in the garage - hey presto! And yes after one of my lure being destroyed by a cod I had just eaten a crunchie and proceed to catch on it! (be careful of you do this yourself as some wrappers may contain nuts!). I will get some pics of the lures on the site so you guys can make your own!!! Would liek to say that they attracted a better stamp of fish and left Alun and Mike to catch the throw backs! Also after the tide really picked up I changed to a low drag rubber worm and had nothing!
