Charlie, Get the pneumatic one, they don't stop on small stones or gravel like the hard ones. I know you have a lot of weight on the nose of your trailer so maybe it would be worth finding out how much weight they can take! Also, get a hitch stand for ST when on the drive to take the weight off the J Wheel. Rob

Paul, I quote from the bottle "Mix 3 caps =(15ml) Salt-x per 1 litre of water in a clean container that your motor or lower unit will fit into. Make sure to COMPLETELY SUBMERGE the water intake. Run engine on fats idle until water begins to exit exhaust port. Then run for 15 seconds and shut off" Therefore I assumed that Salt-X should not be circulated for an extended period via the impellor via the engine running. The only way to see if you have a build up is remove the thermostat, on mine it is a 1 minute job. Rob

Paul, I think it says that on the bottle. On the US website it says: "using our AUTO-MIX UNIT. Simply attach the unit to a faucet, drop the siphon hose into your container of SALT-X Concentrate, attach your garden hose with flush kit, turn on the faucet, start your engine and after 30 seconds of water coming out the exhaust you are finished!! " I will check the instructions on the bottle and get back to you. Rob

I would take the thermostat out and leave it out and just use the hose flush adapter. I guess all that would happen is the engine would take a little longer to warm up. Rob

You should be able to use your muffs at tilt I guess. Also, the salt-x bottle says you can mix it with sea water to rinse your engine, but not to run the engine for more than 15 seconds I think. Never used it for that but it sounds good. Rob

Rich, My Yam is a 50 of 2003 vintage, it has done 95 hours. I always flush with muffs so the engine gets to temperature and the thermostat opens. I can only assume that the previous owner didn't use muffs but the hose attachment which doesnt flush behind the stat (there was a post on here regarding this prob earlier this year ).http://www.pbsbac.co.uk/forums/index.php?showtopic=6241 Don't use the hose connection, use muffs or a bucket of water. On second thoughts Gordon, On my VHF I think Hi and Low power is a control on the transmission not receiving of traffic. To have less reception the senseativity of the reciever would change, I guess, the specs on mine only suggest one level of senseativity. Though I could be completely wrong! Rob
