  1. I have a small jack in my boot - it tough enough to lift the trailer wiht boat and smmal enough to fit inside my spare wheel well. So I never go anywhere without it. Such as sold here but mine is old a crap compared!!: http://www.justoffbase.co.uk/Tool-Shop/Bottle-Jacks Rob

  3. Martin, Charlie Annear might be looking for crew! Rob
  4. Nice work Alun, if only I didn't have to work I would be your netsman. How many fingers does a 17lb cod make? Rob
  5. You could have a head gasket leak in to the dodgy cylinder, however I wouldn't expect it to fire occasionally. As the guys have suggested, you need fuel air and spark. Spark is easy to check, air check your intake, fuel - not so easy to check but a fuel soaked plug would suggest that is ok. If the unit is auto mix it could be too much oil. Rob

    Photo's

Let me put my work hat on..................... Install a Microsoft program called Image Resizer, it is a free power tool for Windows XP. The linkl to the download is: http://download.microsoft.com/download/whi...wertoySetup.exe Once installed you can select one or multiple image files, right click and near the top of the list your will now see "Resize Pictures". Bingo, chhoes this and you can select the size you want it to make it. You can tell it to overwrite the original or it will create a new smaller file. I use Large to put files in my Gallery and Medium if I want to insert it in a post. There are a few other tools available which you might find useful: http://www.microsoft.com/windowsxp/downloa...ppowertoys.mspx Rob

    Chopping Board

Fed up of having to cut up bait on the lid of a small bait bucket I decided to make a chopping board for JoJo. I have seen some boats with boards that slot in to rod holders on the transom. Having a bench seat infront of the transom this was not an option. With a small boat where space is at a premium I decided that an over the side board was the way to go. Therefore I made a board to clip on to the side rail of JoJo. Materials I had were: 3 plastic chopping boards from Wilko 1 Stainless Hinge from B&Q Numerous pan head SS screws Countersunt bolts and nylock nuts Silicone sealant 22mm Pipe clips The board is held on to the rails with pipeclips and currently the leg is held in position on the rubbing strip with a bungee. It also had to fold flat to store due to space limitations!! Pics In album: http://www.pbsbac.co.uk/photoalbum/thumbnails.php?album=105http://www.pbsbac.co.uk/photoalbum/thumbnails.php?album=105 After testing on Sunday the only mod I will make is a full lip along the outer edge (as suggested by Paul Rowcliffe) as frozen baits tend to slide around! (The lip will be raised to allow juices to wash out underneath.) Rob
  19. Mike, I'm sure that the fish looks better everytime I see a photo!!! Rob
  20. Nice one Mike, the rays were out there but I think the competition with the dogs was too much! Catch report for JoJo was: Dogfish after dogfish then.........I had a proper bite....10lb2oz Small Eyed Ray was netted (the fish came just as Coddy radio-ed Frisky Fox to advise the rays had come on the feed! Thanks Dave). Thanks to Paul Rowcliffe for crewing, unfortunatley he didn't hook his first ray, but there is always next time. Rob Pic to follow shortly, once I have put the boat away!
  21. Myself and Paul Rowcliffe will be fishing from JoJo on Sunday. Thanks Rob

    Sunday 07/10/07

I must confess the picture is rotated 90deg anti clockwise. That is Nick's hand on the left. So the Ray was nose up in the water. Duncan, nice work. Rob
  23. Paul, Your in! Thanks. I will call you tomorrow to arrange arrangements!! Rob

    Sunday 07/10/07

Mike, your right, we forgot to take pics of the cuddy, as it was so flat calm and Nick had never driven a boat before, high speed handling was enjoyed! Rob
  25. Popped out of CChurch with my non fishing friend Nick, to reward him for helping me make my folding cuddy for JoJo. We squeezed across the bar with 12" of water to spare (thanks for the advise Alun, you said we would have no probs). Off we headed to find ourselves a ray or 2 (practise for next sunday I hear you say!). Anyway, story goes: We landed an 8.5 Small Eyed, emphasis on the "we" as it has taken both our baits! Nick thought he had snagged the bottom until I had a bite and wound it in! (Incidently, in a comp is that 4.25lb Ray each, I assume it doesn't count?) A few LSD's later (kept for tea), Nick hooks what seemed like the mother of all fish, I think his lead had snagged the bottom and the other end was attached to a 9lb small eyed ray. Eventually the lead came free and up came the fish (only after I was convincing him it was a massive conger and on 20lb braid and 15lb hook length we were in for quite a lengthly battle!). Anyway, the LSD's made a fine curry tonight, only prob is I put the fish in a little early and it seemed to break up quite a bit. And we forgot to test the cuddy under motor, not that we needed it as it was flat calm, t-shirt fishing in October! Also tested my new camera and water proof case in salt water - see release pic below - great piece of kit. Sony DSC-W55 and SPK-WA Sports pack. Up to 3m depth and fairly compact.
