Well, plasticine it is before something more permanent. I would guess the shaft drive warning maybe for transom mounting as there is nowhere to keep clear of the turbulent water, where with an OB it is behind the prop. Difficult to help without being there. Uninstall the network card from Devices and reboot. It should reinstall on restart and might just work! It sounds like it isn't getting an up address from the router, if you are using a BBand supplier provided router, they could have made a change - restart that unit too. Try one of the other pc's with the cable connection, ensure wifi is off.
