  2. Hi Adam I am calling it off too as Bill, my crew has to come down from Bedford and it seems a bit iffy to me. I personally would not normaly launch in a F5 and a worsining forecast, so for safety I am calling off, sorry. I was sooo looking forward to it as well! Coddy
  3. Hi Phil There has been a number of chats over Baiter slip, I personaly not keen on it as I have a braked trailer and as you have to bury the trailer in water and the brakes do not like this. Not so bad if you have a reasonable distance to travel home so that it drys the brakes but as I am only 5 miles from where the boat is, it does not have time to dry properly. Good slips but exspensive is Cobbs Quay (

  7. I just happened to go to Somerset today and had a look in at Burnham. I think you would call the water somewhat coloured! Looks interesting I hope the weather holds and it does not turn Northerly as I read that the surf kicks up then. See you all at Tesco's Coddy

  14. The FPO says I need some Phew-go So can I put my name down on the list of requirements, I already have got my Salt-X which was received by post a few weeks ago. Coddy
  15. Hi guys As a matter of interest how do they launch the boats? Do you start the engine and drive it off, push it off the trailer or am I missing something here? Also recovery, do you beach the boat or circle around until the trailer is brought down to the surf? Do we need to mark the trailers with the boats names so you get the right boat on the right trailer. With 14 club member's boats plus the Burnham's boats there will be a large number of trailers around. Coddy
  16. I too saw Mark as we were sipping coffee in the Sandbanks hotel! Don't ask how much 3 coffee's & 1 hot chocalate costs there!!!! Boat seemed to be going well with such a small crew aboard Coddy

    Hello

Hi Mike Welcome to the forum and I hope the club. Went out with Vic once with my sons, before the great eel day, and he introduced my sons to fishing which they still enjoy from time to time, however they seem to find girls/women more fun but just as exspensive! Like most clubs the more you give the more you get out. Coddy

Doh! If you look on their site and go on the Ebay selection it shows their prices, not as cheap as I was lead to believe. Sorry Coddy
  22. Hi Kam I had a Seahog Hunter, 15ft with a 40hp Evinrude 2-stroke and it went ok no problems. Very easy to launch if the rollers are kept greased as I had bunks to support the sides. Yes it did slam if trying to go too fast in large waves but so does the Warrior at times! It is very stable at anchor and ideal to fish 2 in comfort with a cuddy to stow gear. No front hatch so lazy line anchoring is the way to go. Did not like the look of the Shorty version but others swear by them. Depending on your budget the Orkney Strikliner is a fine boat and will get you home in some poor weather albeit not fast. Check out my website for other ideas from users. Coddy
