I thought that there was another boat jumble at Canford later this year but it seems I was wrong. For those that need a "cheaper" part or equipment here is the link to all boat jumbles. http://www.boatjumbleassociation.co.uk/ There are quite a few around Southampton - Portsmouth areas for those interested. Here is a useful site which gives part numbers and exploded diagrames http://store.brownspoint.com/df40/fig042-04001F.asp I suspect it may have to be a new or re-con unit required. Just a thought as you have the unit stripped, can you get the ram re-chromed? Dave

Hi Mike Tried S/Rough last week-end, most (including charters) were anchored on the northern side but the tide was changing from ebb to flood. We did not get much only some small b/bream. Good hunting Dave

Just a thought If you can get the engine started and rev it, as it starts to die give the primer bulb on the fuel line a good squeeze and see if the engine picks up. If it does it would suggest a fuel pump problem. Good luck Dave

Hi Here is one way of cleaning out water: Step 1 Remove the fuel tank cap. Insert the fuel intake hose until it reaches the bottom of the fuel tank. Step 2Insert the discarge hose into the mouth of the fuel tank and lower it part way down toward the tank. It does not have to reach the fuel. Step 3 Connect the fuel polisher to the power source. Turn on the fuel polisher. Step 4 Begin filtering and polishing the fuel. Pay careful attention to the separator filter. If it becomes blackened with water, debris, algae, etc., shut off the polisher and replace the filtering cartridge. Step 5 Continue recirculating the fuel until it is clear and free of contaminants. When finished, shut off the polishing unit and disconnect it from the power source. Step 6 Withdraw the discharge hose from the tank, pulling it slowly through one of the rags. This wipes off any fuel and prevents a spill. Repeat the same process with the intake hose. Take your time and avoid making a mess. Step 7 Using the rag, dry the hoses and then dispose of the rags in accordance with any local waste disposal regulations or ordinances. Step 8 Replace the fuel cap and start the engine. After it warms up, you should experience cleaner engine exhaust and perhaps slightly more power as well. Shut down the engine. Your fuel polishing task is completed. Not sure where you hire a polisher however! An alternative would be to drain the tank(s) completly, Store the fuel in clear containers and let it stand for a few days to allow the water to sink to the bottom, syphon off the majority back into another container leaving the water and a small amount of diesel on top of the water and do the same again. You will also require a number of new filter elements for your boat. Keep the tank(s) full to prevent condesation from developing and introducing the water. Hope this helps Dave

That is a good paddle even if you launched from Selsey. Just did a quick distance measure and that is over 5.5mls one way! It can get quite lumpy very quickly out there and to get in/out there are a number of "interesting" areas to contend with. Just on a safety point of view. Dave

It is with regret that I have to put Lady C up for sale. Having spent the last week-end with Bill, thanks mate, cleaning her bum and re-coating in new longer lasting anti-foul, the leg recovered and a nice red coated prop due to Propshield and anodes. I will still be using her until she is sold but if anyone is interested give me a call. Hi Paul I have a 4hp 2-stroke if that helps? Old but works ok Dave

Hi Gordon Suggest keeping the power leads apart as far as possible and if possible connect the power from a differant location, you may have to fit a suppresor (condensor) accross the F/F power lead. A quick check would be to try connecting to a battery directly. Hope the above helps Dave

Thanks guys Happy Birthday Charlie! I have the boat out this week-end for painting the anti-foul so hoping for good weather. Trying out Jotun 30 anti-foul this time to see if it lasts better than International Uno. A friend went out this morning for a few hours and said the regular spots were packed with boats. He had a number of B Bream, gars, dogfish and pout. Dave

A good article was put on a forum where the guy was fitting them to a Raider. http://www.beachandboat.co.uk/index.cgi?bo...ay&thread=14568 Hope it helps Dave

Just a thought Are you letting it warm up? Is there a choke option on your motor? Are you using FRESH fuel? Is there fuel getting to the carb? Doubt if carbs blocked on a 4-stroke but the filter may be blocked or partly Is the tank vent open? Try all the simple things first if it worked ok previously Dave

As the club's comp season is about to start, weather permitting, I started to look for the the specimen size list. I have found the old NFSA listing that we used but there were a few adjustments made. See below Do we have a revised list anywhere so we can all print off a list to keep on the boat as all this year comps are specimen based? Dave

Agree with others, they look nice but I would spend the
