    Hello!

Hi Martyn Not seen any reports for a while from you thought you had sold up! Dave
  2. You have a PM Dave
  3. Hi Reg It made the RNLI press! ---------------------------------------------- Three RNLI lifeboats in the south east of Scotland launched on Saturday afternoon (24 October) to go to the aid of an angling vessel thought to be facing difficulties in deteriorating weather. St Abbs RNLI inshore lifeboat launched on service at just after 1.00pm to the aid of the Lazy G Diver, which had a party of eight anglers and a skipper aboard. The St Abbs RNLI Lifeboat Operations Manager decided to self-launch the lifeboat, concerned for the vessel

    Epoxy glue

Hi I need to get a small quantity of epoxy to carry out some odd bits on the boat and cover some plywood. Can anyone please suggest the best stuff to get and where from Thanks Dave
  7. Just to bump this to the top. This film is being shown tonight (Tuesday) at 10pm on More4 channel Dave
  8. Hi Tom Get an exercise bike and get into regular cycle runs indoors. This will keep you fit, loose weight AND keep you warm! If you get a little genny to run off one of the wheels it could power a household appliance as you pedal! On a serious note I would agree that once the house is warm it will retain the heat and require just topping up as and when. If you have rooms that you don't use keep temp at approx 45F so it prevents freezing and condensation and keep the doors closed. Otherwise set your background heat levels via the rad stats and top up heat with the wood stove. You could always have early nights to keep warm !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Dave
  9. Hi all I carried out a check and refilled my engine with anti-freeze up to the required strength at the week-end. Thought it might be a timely reminder for all with inboard engines to do the same! Might save an expensive repair. Dave
  10. Hi Charlie Is that the menu to enter a new waypoint or to look up a saved one? The menu is the same until you select New or Saved Yes I have the option of a second SD card on the plotter so could even record sounder functions as I travelled if only I could get the transducer to give me a good picture consistantly. Dave
  11. Hi Charlie Yes they show wrecks and tidal flow but not heights which is a shame as I had that facility on the C-Maps charts. I find it zooms in well and tells you the sea bed type as well. Menu for getting the waypoints is a bit over complicated in my opinion but it could be my plotter which happens to be a Lowrance. Dave
  12. Hi Brian I too have the Nauticpath chart but for the whole UK. It seems to provide all the relevant info and marks, what I don't know yet is if it will work with Navonics home PC system as I would love to load marks down from home and then just upload when on the boat. Dave
  13. Lady Christine had to wait for water to get off the moorings so by 10am Bill and I were under way. We headed straight out of the harbour and as I don't have a decent ray mark yet I went to an area that is known to provide a mixture of fish at times. Well when we got there there were a number of other boats around but did not see much action being brought over the sides. Fist drop of the anchor and it failed to hold, when it was recovered found that it had tripped which I suspect happened when the anchor warp snagged up and jerked the rope! Repositioned the boat and try again, this time it held as it should have done. Nothing showed at this mark so a move was agreed on and we went inshore only to get doggies and I managed a nice 1lb+ red gurnard. Time to move again so a drift or 2 down hook sands produced nothing so into the harbour. Nothing happened until the last few feet of the last of the drift when Bill managed to pull in a 1lb 2oz flounder. By now it was time to stop fishing and head back to the mooring. Nice day to be out shame about the lack of fish. Adam - for comp 1 x Flounder @ 1lb 2oz for Bill Dave
  14. Just as a weather safety angle At the time of writing wind is looking Westerly 8-10kts with a swell of approx 1mtr. This should be ok for most craft BUT it is down to the skipper to make the final decision. Poole harbour tide - LW 08.30, HW 12.00 & 18.00 so should be ok to recover for those using Baiter. Dave
  15. Hi Adam Just playing devils advocate, can you submit 2 x fish, one a ray and one a flat fish? Just a thought Booking in: Lady Christine should out to play with Bill as crew, whether we catch any specimens is another matter! Dave
