  1. Hi all Don't forget that the clocks go forward 1hr Saturday night so allow for BST on your tide calculations! You might even over-sleep as well! Coddy
  2. Hi Rob For every 1" less pitch you should get about 200 extra revs If you trim out too far the prop will start cavitating, this means it will loose grip in the water and it could also damage the prop. This can happen in a following sea or on tight turns as well. Are you sure your prop is 10.5" Diam and not 13"? As it would seem a very small prop for your engine. Might be worth getting the prop checked out anyway and they may be able to reduce the pitch at the same time which would keep the costs down. Coddy
  3. HAPPY BIRTHDAY Tim & Drew Hope you have a good one Coddy

  9. Hi Brian Did not have any on my Warrior 165 however I only had a 60hp Mariner 4-stroke which went well enough for me. Felt I did not need them but those with bigger/more powerful engines seem to benefit from them to help stop the porposing that can occur when going at high speed. Many have damaged the Auto tabs when launching in sallow water! I suppose it all depends on how good your back is when travelling fast, me I like comfort ................. with a bit of speed and felt 22kts+ was fine for me. I have a report of those tabs on my web site if you want to take a look. Many club members have them fitted. Coddy

    Sunday Quickie

The only way to pull off a Sunday afternoon quickie with their 8 year-old son in the apartment was to send him out on the balcony with a lollipop and tell him to report on all the neighbourhood activities. He began his commentary as his parents put their plan into operation: 'There's a car being towed from the parking lot', he shouted. 'An Ambulance just drove by.' 'Looks like the Anderson 's have company', he called out. 'Matt's riding a new bike....' 'Looks like the Sanders are moving' 'Jason is on his skate board....' After a few moments he announced, 'The Coopers are having sex!!' Startled, his Mother and Dad shot up in bed! Dad cautiously called out, 'How do you know they are having sex?' Jimmy Cooper is standing on his balcony with a lollipop. Coddy

    Free Boat

Nice choices Brian, hope this does not start a discussion on the merits of both boats like other forums! I quite like the Jenu 580 or the equiverlant Beneteau/Ocqueteau Maybe worth a look when you are ready. Dave
  19. Gordon Don't forget to post your catch on the year long species thread. I can then update Enticer's score Coddy

    Free Boat

Good luck with the sale Brian What sort of boat are you going to look for this time? Coddy
  21. Good to hear you are all sorted now Charlie. Shame you don't get a list of codes to help you sort things out before going to the dealer. Just need some good weather now! Coddy
  22. Paul and all The number of fish per angler I have quoted was a suggested number and it could be less or more depending on what the majority agree on if an agreement is ever reached. Please remember that for this suggestion it is JUST Cod and Bass bag limits. I understand the thoughts that it may be extended towards other species at some time but for now we are looking just these two species. Perhaps we could also get a Fisheries Officer to come to a club night so members can ask them how they carry out there role. It might be a brave person that agrees to this night! Anyway, good to see some ideas and thoughts comming out, keep them coming. Coddy
  23. Following the club meeting, where I asked what the members thought about a voluntary bag limit on Cod and Bass for recreational anglers, I said I would put it up on the forum for all to debate. This idea was suggested at the Poole District Sea Angling Association meeting where the idea was bounced around to provide a method of allowing the fishery officers to catch un-licensed anglers who catch boxes of fish and then goes on to sell them, which of course is illegal. The idea is that the local authority can pass a by-law which limits the number of fish caught by each angler to be brought back for the table. If the fishery officer stops a boat who exceeds the limit then action can be taken against the skipper/angler. Normal commercial licensed fishermen will not be affected by this by-law as they may have limits anyway. The problem at the moment is that any angler can bring back as many fish as they wish, subject to minimum size, and the fishery officers have no powers to stop this happening, the problem arises if someone tries to sell their catch. This then can become a Police matter and/or Fishery
