If you do buy a S/S prop, don't buy one that is the same size as your Aluminium one. With S/S the prop needs to be smaller. Or at least this is what the Suzuki dealer told me. Malroy, Paul, I've never had any problems with cold starting on my Suzuki 4 stroke, or a tendancy to stall when cold. Are your engines carbs or electronic injection? Bob F.

Yes, I'd love to have a trip at some time. When I bought my Alaska from Arnie Holt he told me the story about Warrior and Elite. Paul used to work for Arnie and left to set up Warrior. Brian used to work for Paul and then left to set up Elite. There's a name for this sort of thing...in breeding is one phrase you could use. But, you are right. Mike, It's only a case of editing the text in the file as shown. You open the file by double clicking on the file name. This should open a text editor window. Some shops will NOT match web prices. I wanted to support my local shop in Poole and so went in with the intention of buying an Abu 6600LD, if they could match or get very close to the web prices. The reply I got was very aggressive and left me in no uncertain terms that they do not negotiate on price. Needless to say, I bought the reel from the web. Bob F.

Duncan, Have they changed their deposit requirements? I had a look at the Elite a couple of years ago, but was completely put off when they said they wanted a 50% deposit!!! They had only been in business for a while, so I guess they were having some initial cash flow problems. Perhaps this is all behind them now. Bob F.

Not sure what it is about the Southampton Boat Show, but it's never really appealed to me, and so have never attended. Your summary only strengthens my feeling. The Pirate 21 got a good write up on one of the mags recently. Did you get the package price, and where can you go to see one (apart from the show)? Bob F.

Sam, I bought a couple of cheap Ron Thompson outfits for my lad. The rods were ok but the multipliers were useless. The reels gave up after a few months. I read similar reports about the "cheap" makes of reels. If you cannot afford new, my advice would be to look for a second hand Penn, Shimano or Abu. Even if they are a bit battered and broken they can easily be fixed. As for rods, I'd stick with the Ugly Sticks. The 12lb class would be a nice rod for the bay. I use the Ugly Stick spinning rod when in the harbour. Bob F.
