  1. Wecome aboard, DJ.
  2. Adam, A good chance of getting your first Blonde around the Overfalls. The Kidney Bank off Weymouth is also supposed to be a good Blonde mark. Pete, Billy, how will the Kidney Bank be fishing at the moment? Bob F.
  3. Nice session.

    A spare week

Forecast for next week isn't good. Gales on Weds. Bob F.
  5. Wonder what's happened to the Maccie. People seem to be struggling to find them in recent days. I guess it's the rougher weather breaking up the shoals.
  6. Cheers, Pete. Newboy, it's about a 30min drive by road. Bob F.
  7. I think it depends on the harbour you are entering. With a harbour like Poole where you have deep, wide, well defined and stable channels, it is relatively easy to use your plotter to navigate the channels. But with a harbour like Xchurch where you have very shallow, changable and very narrow channels you have very little margin for error using your plotter alone, and a very short reaction time to make direction changes without hitting the mud banks. In this case, the plotter is best used as guide only to allow you to predict where the next turns are, and where to look for the next bouys. The bottom line for Xchurch is that you cannot reply on the plotter. You need to use the bouys to navigate, which means you need a powerful torch or spot light to find them. That's my view, anyway. 8. As Pete says, you need to wait until Aug/Sept for the bigger Bass to reach Weymouth. Had a good chat with Les when I was on his boat last Saturday. If you want to fish Weymouth in the next month or so, how about giving the Adamant Shoal area a bash? I guess the species would be rays and turbot, with the chance of an early bass, but perhaps Billy Boy or Pete can recommend something. Not sure what tides we need for Adamant Shoal. I'm told it can be a big dodgy on big tides???? Bob F.
  9. Rich, the skipper should vouch for you, and that should be good enough. You've gotta go for it matey. Bob F
  10. ...what, no Bass???? You're slipping JP. Don't forget to enter your bass into the BFM Navman competition. Same goes to you, Rich. Your 12-12 bass was caught in May, right? Bob F
  11. Find it difficult to believe that Richard's 12lb 12oz Bass didn't win the Sea Angler Catch and Release prize this month. A 6lb 4oz Plaice and a 211lb skate won it!! Unlucky Rich. I thought it deserved to win. At least you got a Bass Mission Accomplished Badge!! Bob F.

    Species

Yep, more than happy for others to do an article on any species. Any takers? You just have to write it up and we can add the pictures and graphics, if necessary. Bob F.

    Species

Thanks for the encouragement, Dave. I had hoped to do an article each month, but...I can see Charlie smiling now. The conger article isn't finished yet, there's still a bit more I need to add. Adam committed to doing a Plaice article, as well, which is due at any moment (perhaps)... cheers Bob F.
  14. ...ok, ok, ok!! I think we get the idea. I bet you woke up with a smile on your face... Nice one matey. Bob F
  15. Welcome Andy. Good luck with your trip in Poole Harbour. Let us know how you get on. Bob F
  16. ...and I bl@@dy missed it!!! My apologies to Adam and Paul for not being there to help with the presentation. Still suffering from this damn bug. The feedback I got was that everyone enjoyed the get together after the comp, and had a damn good chin wag. One of our main objectives was to get the club members together, so this seems to have gone well. With 30+ club members entering the comp over the weekend, this has to be one of our best ever attendances. Well done chaps. And for those like me that were not in the prizes, what the hell, there's always next year...and that will be even better!!
  17. The game is on boys...there are fish already being recorded...and it's a very good start. Bob F.
  18. OK, Duncan. By the way, my lad has caught a bug, so I will not have a crew. Les and I have arranged to go out on his boat tomorrow. Charlie, yes, it's ok to pay on Sunday. Bob F.
  19. John, Your ray was probably a blonde. The British record small-eyed is 17lb 8oz. Our club record small-eyed is 13lb 12oz. Bob F
  20. ...ahhhh, but you're still here to fight again, Adam.
  21. well there goes one of the prizes. consider yourself enetered, Pete. Will you be attending the presentation and food on Sunday? 'Tis free.
  22. OK Paul.
  23. Oh you film buff you.
  24. Isn't it wonderful...? They live in the same house, but talk to each other using our forum...
