  1. That was a nasty trick to play, Rich. I had something similar done to me on my stag night. The bassTurds strapped a kipper under the dash board of my car. Took me a couple of weeks to find the source of the smell.
  2. I'll be taking Karen and the kids out tomorrow in Splash-Out. Weather looks good and the tides are perfect for a trip up the Wareham channel and lunch at one of the quayside pubs. So that what we will be doing. Then after lunch we'll mess around in the harbour or over at Studland. HW is 11:17 and 15:38, with LW at 18:37 (even the LW is quite high at 1.2m). We will be launching from Baiter at 11am, and then potter slowing up the Wareham channel. Adam and Rachel with be out in Blue Warrior, so if anyone else wants to join, feel free. Bob F.
  3. Nice one Billy. Yet more fish caught on garfish. I'll have to start keeping a few...
  4. Depressing, ain't it? And where's all the tax disappearing to??
  5. I'd love to but I couldn't bare being away from Karen and the kids for 4 days...
  6. Nice photographic account of the trip, Paul. Bit of a typo with one of Pete's pollack, though. I think it's a Ling. Wish I'd been there. Bob F.
  7. Latest live report from out in the Bay is that James and Adam have had 15 Tope between them so far, upto 25lb. Jammy dodgers! Bob F.

    Bass 'n' pirk

Mark A had a bass on feathers last Sunday. 20 yrs ago was the last time he caught a Bass. Can you believe that!!! He was well chuffed. It was under size though, and so went back. Bob F. Am I your Uncle???
  9. My Suzuki Hanbook has a little chart which shows when things like impellers and cam belts need to be replaced. Bob F.
  10. Yea, me too, Kim. Hope he gets sunburned out there today. He out with James, trying to catch Tope. Looks like we might have the last laugh, though. He might not have won the Bram Comp.
  11. Wish I hadn't now.

  13. So who won the comp? Was there a junior prize as well? Oh, don't tell me, we have to wait till the Dinner and Dance presentations...grrr.
  14. Karen says she'll be getting her knockers out if we go up the Wareham Channel. For the bird watching.
  15. Yes, and apparently the dogfish don't like them. Can't believe that.
  16. Martin, Adam, Sounds good. Let's see what the weather's like. Talk to you on Friday.
  17. Yeh, we will be doing something like that, or going up the Wareham channel and into the pub for lunch. Need to check the tides for that one, though.
  18. I was heading a convoy of boats coming into Xchurch harbour on Sunday, doing the prescribed 4knts with the sun in our eyes. I missed one of the bouys and everyone dutifully followed me. Funniest thing I've seen was the bigger boats scrambling out of the mud and back into the channel. One boat had another boat tied to the side of it to tow it in. Coming round the corner into Wick he had taken the port side of the channel and suddenly met a 30ft boat coming the other way piloted by a woman. The poor lady didn't know which way to turn. She couldn't go to starboard 'cus it would have taken her onto the river bank, and couldn't go to port because of the other boats (who were on the correct side of the channel). And apparently, neither boat could stop. So they did a bit of jostling, like a rugby player trying to stop an attacking forward, and tried to veer out of the way but they made contact with a heavy glancing blow. The guy towing the boat was nearly thrown overboard. The woman just carried on as if nothing had happened. Twas the guys fault though.
  19. If the weather is good this weekend I promised to take the family out on the boat, so no fishing...well perhaps the odd mackerel feather.
  20. Thanks Charlie. Bob F.
  21. Adam, Rich, I can't make it on Thursday. Things at work have gone pear-shaped. Sorry Bob F.
