  1. Its not too dodgy, Ive tried it several times with little succes - it looks perfect, and tried stormies but no takes. The water is very coloured and their is usually lots of weed. That said Tomcat the Lymington charter does very well their for the bass.
  2. Many thanks to all who made the effort and were able to attend the 2nd return leg of our friendly comp with Burnham Sea Angling Association. The weather was perfect after the F5-6 on Saturday and an oily calm sea greeted us early Sunday morning. 57 Anglers and 28 boats booked in for the match which surprised even me! This meant a very heahtly prize pool for the 6 heaviest fish. The fishing was pretty hard overall to everyones surpise, but a few decent fish came back to the scales and it was nice to see the BSAA lads catching fish they never sea back at home - Garfish, Mackerel, Pollock, Bream etc.... Personally on BW with Gordon as crew we had a good days fishing but nothing to keep the prize money in my pocket! We headed west and stuggled in the tide for tope - 1st cast I took at 34lber, lovely fish and great scrap but no good for the scales! We then headed off to a wreck, where we figured the large tides would keep the divers off. After 3 attempts we anchored correctly and the eels came thick and fast for the 2 hours we had left. We ended up with a dozen or so but nothing over 25lb. Final result for the day was: 1st - Richard Swain - Bull Huss - 11lb 9oz - 115.63% 2nd - D Teamer - Garfish - 1lb 3oz - 95% 3rd - B Page - Black Bream - 3lb 2oz - 89.29% 3rd - M Bowden - Black Bream - 3lb 2oz - 89.29% 5th - P Russell - Black Bream - 2lb 15oz - 83.93% 5th - J Geoffery - Black Bream - 2lb 15oz - 83.93% I think you will all agree that the format has worked very well for this competition and wehope to formalise this and make it an annual event each year. Thanks also to Charlie for helping with the scores after work. Adam

  5. They are arnt they!...??....
  6. Jimbo and I went for a short afternoon session on DR today. Started on Xray, but was dog city, so after 2 hours moved over to our bream hole. 4 of the Lymington charter boats were already anchored in out not so secret mark, so we nestled in between them. Bites from the off - I ended up with 6 bream to 2lb 10oz, a few wrasse, a Goldsinney Wrasse - a first of these rare fish for me! and the usual pout, poor cod etc... Back home in time to catch the missues home from work!
  7. Amasing?? What does that mean??...... Surely Amazing?, but then again the b%^dy frog and the word amazing dont go in the same sentance!!

  12. All, Please remember it the the retunr leg of the Burnham vs PBSBAC comp on Sunday - they supported us tremendously in March, lets do the same down here. As their are cash prizes booking in is from 8.30am at Baiter. Scales shut at 5.30pm prompt. Full cash payout. All details are on the attached flyer. NB - Paul D, can you put this on the main page until Sunday? Out of interest who is planning to come? They are brining about 10-15 boats, so we need at least 6 Poole trailered boats to buddy them?.....
  13. Paul, I wont bring the Rav then, if you have your 4x4?
  14. Cant remember most of them....but, I had Mavis when she was a lower double! The Canary, The Salmon, Dick's 26, Apples, Fag Packet, Fold Over Top Tail, and Bottom Tail, The Beast, The 1/2 linear, the 3/4 linear, Arfur.....wow, brings back old memories! I have now sold most of my carp gear after not using it for 2/3 years, sad, but it just takes up too much time. I spend more nights during 1998 on the bank fishing in Ringwood than at home...of course I was single then, hence the reason I dont go anymore!
  15. Yes Duncan I agree. I have aksed Jack and Andy of they fancy a trip on Pal-O-Mine, if so hopefully Ill tag along with them - bit more sturdy than BW!
  16. Yes Paul, that is the plan. Havent seen the tides yet, but I would think a launch about 7.30 - 8.00am come in about 4ish?? Adam

Pretty sure youll only find Giltheads Devon way, bit stand to be corrected!
  18. Dan, Me and the guys I used to fish with named the Walrus amongst others...I fished Somerley back when it was a decent lake and have had some cracking fish from there, alas many are now dead. As for fly rods. I would have to disagree with much of what has been said. Whilst it is probably the most expensive type of fishing to do (day tickets are dear and if you thought running a boat was expensive try paying for a day / season on the Test!) BUT, kitting yourself out is probably the cheapest type of sport - mainly because you need very little. A half decent rod needs to cost no more than 40-50 quid. A reel for
  19. Good idea Duncan, that would free up a weekend and kill 2 birds with one stone so to speak. What do the tides and states look like?
  20. Im taking the old man out for a birthday fishing trip, launching from Lymington, and planning to fish Sowley for the day. Anchor Rope

I spent the initial outlay on decent stuff and have never regreted it, it coils lovely, knots well and it a joy to use.... A comment I always remember from my time training for my current job to use with price consious cutomers, but will also apply to this - " Youll remember the quality long after you forget the price " And it is true, I try to apply it most things I buy ans you usually get what you pay for. Adam
  25. Id have a crack if Bliss 2 was coming along. I could just carry enough fuel, and I would want a very good forecast - 1-2's, but yep Id be up for it. Maybe we could have a look at some dates and tides, then all we need it the weather and a few weeks to save up for the fuel!!
