Well done mike - lovely boat. Did it come from Bristol perchance? A chap called Ziplex bought one of these (you may remember) about a year ago and it was well discussed on this forum - then about 6 months later, once he had kitted it out it was up for sale! Adam

I had a really good look at one at the Southampton show. Looked like a cracking boat, very solidly built, very workman like - not that pretty finish wise. Would go for the inboard version, but as Peter says the room is cut back due to the engine box. They have a website: http://www.pirate-boats.com/piratemi21.htm

Good point, well made. Post edited.

I take it this is the on one boats and outboards? A 40hp will be OK on the 150, I reckon cruising at 15 knots and a top end of 18. A 50hp is the ideal size for a 150 in terms of both economy and speed, and 60hp ditto on a 165. Adam

Paul, I think youve missed the point matey! Jack cant get a shine on his Zodiac cause it is a rib, made from rubber!

As a guide Mike, and from someone who did lots of research (youll probably remember) when I bought mine, the price of this boat reflects the engine, but Id have to agree if it is in poor condition maybe a little over priced. Just a bit of info for you: They made/make 2 versions of the 165 - the mk1 and the mk2. The mk2 is the same as mine, it has curved gunnels and transom and cuddy etc - basically it has no sharp angles, the mk1 does, but is basically the same boat with a few cosmetic changes. The 150 is the same all the way along. A good condition MK11 with a new/ish engine and all the toys would go for about 10-12k secondhand at the moment depending on engine size, hours run and general condition. A poor condition MK1 with an old engine and not alot of extras would go for about 6-7k.....you may find a real stinker for

No offence to the guys who own these boats - but after you have called them 3 three times on the radio, you begin to wonder if they are a 'bit' stupid! Loyal Royal - calling Mark on the VHF is like playing red lorry, yellow lorry! Splash-Out - Bob has the tongue twister when signing off the VHF - Splash Out - Out... Anyway, who am I to jest - the guy whose boat name states the bl^&dy obvious!! One of my favourites is the name ' this way up' written upside down on the hull!

Welcome back mike - glad to hear you are on the road to recovery - itll be good to see you out there again this summer! As Coddy offered, you are also wlecome to either come out or ask as many q's as you like on Blue Warrior. I quess that if you search this site under 'warrior' or '165' then youll get quite a bit of info from here. See you soon. Adam

See here: http://www.pbsbac.co.uk/forum/index.php?showtopic=1452&hl= The last post gives the details of a chap on Ebay who sells any quantity if rope in whatever spec you like - and he is dirt cheap. Well recommended. BarryEdwards999 I think....

I have bought 4m of 50mm x 3mm 316 SS to do the larger underwater keel section and 1.6m of 20mm for the bow section. The taper is only over about 300/400mm so I plan to do this manually with a grinder to achive the profile (or leave the taper and just fit the 50mm - havent decided yet) I have bought 10 guage 1 3/4" screws as when you consider the 3mm for the stainless, 3mm for the gel, 4/5mm for the fibreglass plus any voids etc it gives you very little to bite with.

The trail-away 'hardcore' ventured out this morning despite the poor forecast, we reckoned on the small weather window until midday for a bit of plaice fishing. Blue Warrior, Maverick and Fat Chance luanched from Weymouth at 7am. The run out to the banks was fine, but the wind has increased from the F1 at 5am to a 2/3 at 8am by the time we reached the mark, but we still managed nearly top speed all the way out. The sun shone and the sea was still OK - maybe we should have let the trail-away go head I pondered???.... Gordon was quick off the mark with a Plaice the 1st drift - shortly follwed by one on Maverick and another on Fat Chance by Tony's crew. Gordon then had another the next drift and it looked to be a good day. Alas the fishing and indeed the weather was as they forecast. We took another 4 plaice on BW between us and a few more to the other guys, but by 12pm the wind was a good F4/5 under a slate grey sky with rain in the air - it was blo%%dy cold stood out in it also (Martin will tell you!!) We called it a day at 12.30pm and had a rollercoaster ride back to the Hood at 20 knots - where we had a few drifts for pollock and wrasse. Good to get out on a day where we usually would have stayed at home, and chuffed that we found the small window in the weather. Adam

BW will be going - I have had the same idea as Martin. The early morning forecast looks pretty good - so Ill just fish until the slack after lunch (if I can) and then come on in. Ill take this as a cancelled trail-away and move it to the 15th May as a re-schedule. Ill see anyone who wants to come down on the slip at 7-7.30am Adam

As in most walks of nature - the males are the most pretty/handsome/impressive ones - (apart from humans!) Keep the males, and return the dull (but full of roe!) females. Adam

The forecast for Sunday is now looking pretty much like we will have to postpone the trip. Latest update is that Sunday will begin OK with light winds from the North, but by lunchtime they will swing to the South and begin to build. They are giving F6 by 16.00pm. Ill post an official outcome tomorrow eve - but just thought Id let you know. Possible date for the re-schedule is Sunday 15th May. Adam

Its looking right on the edge at the moment. Agreed with Paul - the bad weather is coming, but at what time it arrives is open at the moment. The forecast sites seem to point towards about 4pm. I will let the met office decide for me on Sat eve at 5pm. Adam

Metcheck latest forecast: http://www.metcheck.com/48HourInshore.asp?...2&inshoreID=115 F3-4 from the SSW. With such a small tide provided it doesnt get any worse it may still be fishable. I would advise that any small open boats wishing to come though may want to crew on a bigger cabin boat - a F4 S will still be lumpy on the Shambles. Lets see what the Met Office give tomorrow at 5pm. Adam

The forecast is looking 50/50 at the moment, but the good news is that its getting better the near we get to Sunday. There is a massive low out in the Atlantic that is approaching, but it looks like it may hold off until Monday....fingers crossed. The current forecast is still too windy, WNW F4-5 - if this stays to the N and drops a few knots we may be OK. I think we will know more come Friday eve. Tides are small : http://easytide.ukho.gov.uk/EasyTide/EasyT...dictionLength=7 Adam

I was keeping quiet, hoping the forecast would improve! At the moment it looks like 25 knots Southerly, which is a big no go. Fingers crossed this will shift. By Friday eve we should have a better idea. Adam

There is also a link to this on the main page - just read it from here. Fantastic book.

Dont forget chaps - its the clubs 1st Trail-Away to Weymouth this Sunday. Meeting at Town Quay Slipway for 7-7.30am off at 8am. Call Adam on 07957 829902 for further details if you need them or post here. Adam
-
Blue Warrior is on there - but under Mr Nichol who owned the boat before me - it even has the same callsign. I guess they will just change the details and add my MMSI.
-
Will do - Ill let you know on Sunday.
