  4. All, Please remember it the the retunr leg of the Burnham vs PBSBAC comp on Sunday - they supported us tremendously in March, lets do the same down here. As their are cash prizes booking in is from 8.30am at Baiter. Scales shut at 5.30pm prompt. Full cash payout. All details are on the attached flyer. NB - Paul D, can you put this on the main page until Sunday? Out of interest who is planning to come? They are brining about 10-15 boats, so we need at least 6 Poole trailered boats to buddy them?.....
  5. Paul, I wont bring the Rav then, if you have your 4x4?
  6. Cant remember most of them....but, I had Mavis when she was a lower double! The Canary, The Salmon, Dick's 26, Apples, Fag Packet, Fold Over Top Tail, and Bottom Tail, The Beast, The 1/2 linear, the 3/4 linear, Arfur.....wow, brings back old memories! I have now sold most of my carp gear after not using it for 2/3 years, sad, but it just takes up too much time. I spend more nights during 1998 on the bank fishing in Ringwood than at home...of course I was single then, hence the reason I dont go anymore!
  7. Yes Duncan I agree. I have aksed Jack and Andy of they fancy a trip on Pal-O-Mine, if so hopefully Ill tag along with them - bit more sturdy than BW!
  8. Yes Paul, that is the plan. Havent seen the tides yet, but I would think a launch about 7.30 - 8.00am come in about 4ish?? Adam

Pretty sure youll only find Giltheads Devon way, bit stand to be corrected!
  10. Dan, Me and the guys I used to fish with named the Walrus amongst others...I fished Somerley back when it was a decent lake and have had some cracking fish from there, alas many are now dead. As for fly rods. I would have to disagree with much of what has been said. Whilst it is probably the most expensive type of fishing to do (day tickets are dear and if you thought running a boat was expensive try paying for a day / season on the Test!) BUT, kitting yourself out is probably the cheapest type of sport - mainly because you need very little. A half decent rod needs to cost no more than 40-50 quid. A reel for
  11. Good idea Duncan, that would free up a weekend and kill 2 birds with one stone so to speak. What do the tides and states look like?
  12. Im taking the old man out for a birthday fishing trip, launching from Lymington, and planning to fish Sowley for the day. I dont have any room for crew, but would appreciate another boat for company if anyone fancies it?? Anyoen know how the Solent is fishing at the moment? Are the Smoothies showing? Adam

  14. After the discusion taking place after Charlie's trip, I have moved the possibility of a trip to the Rips to here. The calander is very full. The weekend of the 18 & 19th June are the only free. What are the tides?
  15. Seem to be going over familiar ground here! http://www.pbsbac.co.uk/forum/index.php?showtopic=539&st=0

    Anchor Rope

I spent the initial outlay on decent stuff and have never regreted it, it coils lovely, knots well and it a joy to use.... A comment I always remember from my time training for my current job to use with price consious cutomers, but will also apply to this - " Youll remember the quality long after you forget the price " And it is true, I try to apply it most things I buy ans you usually get what you pay for. Adam
  17. Id have a crack if Bliss 2 was coming along. I could just carry enough fuel, and I would want a very good forecast - 1-2's, but yep Id be up for it. Maybe we could have a look at some dates and tides, then all we need it the weather and a few weeks to save up for the fuel!!

    Where Is It ?

They decided to rotate it - pitty I know! Ill get them to move it to the main gallery for Alderney 2005.
  19. I like the Arvor 250, it is a massive boat for a 25', if Charlie is looking then a trip on Pal-o-mine would be worthwile... But as Mark and Jack have said - whilst the finish looks lovely the workmanship is very poor, juts niggley things but irritating nonetheless.
  20. Paul, Fantastic job matey! Well done. Is there a link from the main page? Adam
  21. Wooah!!! Steady on Bob!....I bet spending all that made you have to sit down for a bit! Bout time - I think you should take the old unit to the antiques roadshow!!

    Where Is It ?

Hmmm I wonder who this could be???!!

    Where Is It ?

This is Peter Russell Jnr - or Stainless Pete in his Thai Pink Jim Jams! Photos was taken by Chris Caines in Alderney on the first night and he had to endue 3 days of ribbing by us lot! Fetching aint they!
  24. Nearly Kam, not a CoreQueen (i expect Jack and Mike will give you an amusing explination of this)...but a Corkwing Wrasse. A small chappie, very colourful and quite rare compared to the Ballan Wrasse. The true identifier of a real corkwing is the black spot in the centre of the dorsal root. Very similar to a Goldsinney who has the spot on the top of the tail root. http://www.glaucus.org.uk/corkwing.htm

    Anchor Recovery ?

Camira, Most of us use the system without the triangle. This just stops the bouy from dissapreaing under the bow, but with a little manourvering this can be avoided anyway - shame you missed the boat training day, we covered this. My advice would be to go for one of the Stainless Steve / Pete or the DP Marine products. Buy a cheap buoy from a chandlers and away you go.
