    Blue Gel?

Anyone got any blue gel coat knocking around? I only need about a table spoon full! Just to repair as small ding on the boat. Thanks
  2. Who's coming? The date is set - 20th April. Usual arrangements, meet at Tesco Blandford if suitable, trail up to Burnham - days fishing - Rays, Rays, more rays - a few bass, the odd cod etc....! We had a slightly muted turnout last year and this year two of the boats that went last year are sold, so COME ON!! We need you trailer boaters!! Who's coming then??
  3. Not in Poole Bay though
  4. Blimey - that is early. Start of April was the first Bream report last year. Just been reading through ctahc reports from last spring - wondering if I'm doing the right thing selling OotB as the fishing starts to hot up!!
  5. Nice looking reel. A TLD on steriods...
  6. Yep! 20th April is pencilled in for us to go to Burnham, the return trip is for our bream comp in May. Not long now - just over 4 weeks, better start a who's coming thread.... I'll need a ride this year!
  7. Martin, Pop it on ebay - I sold my last one for over 50 quid. Or, I'll take it for 20 and list it for you!
  8. This time of year is conger time for me - not else around! If your after eels out of xchurch, then forget the Clan - 8 miles South sees you on half a dozen decent wrecks all holding decent eels in 100' plus.

    Red Diesel

Brian, Ive also wondered about this. I have oil fired heating as we cant get mains gas here. I had it filled this week - 1000 ltrs -
  11. Monk sells for its texture, not the flavour. Very meaty and firm, plus takes flavours well. Agree with above, taste isnt the best.

    Diesel Tax?

So the idea is to have a 200hp diesel onboard to run your heating system, and a 10hp diesel which you have your commercial liceance under on which to power the boat!
  13. Good luck with the sale Dave. Are you giving up the boat owning game or trading to something else? ATB Adam

    Power Gum

They are good Billy - I always carry a few....but.... you cant put them on afterwards like you can a powergum waterknot? I.e they need to be the firstt item on the trace whatever you are using them for. A waterknot can be added afterwards. Another use for the knot is for attaching a dropper as an afterthought, commonly used for tying droppers when fly fishing, I quite often whack one on my cod or big fish trace if other smaller fish are around like whiting. http://www.trout-salmon-fishing.com/flyfishing-knots.htm Knot no.6
  15. Happy Birthday Dean! Have a good one tonight.

    Diesel Tax?

I have just read that it has now been announced that Red Diesel for pleasure use in boats will be subject to the full 60p of tax from Nov 1st? Is this true? If so I'll have to think carefully before the new purchase! That will make it, what -

  20. Mike, You wont go wrong with any unit from the main manufacturers - Garmin, Navman, Lowrance (Eagle) Raymarine, Furnuo etc.. Garmin, Navman and Lowrance probably have the biggest leisure following in our size and boat useage. Furuno, Simrad and Raymarine are all starting to go towards commercial use and whilst are still leisure units, they arent as intuative as the ones above. Size wise - I know what you mean. Personally I managed a 10.5" plotter for your budget - just, but had to add the charts - another
  21. This applies to our club boats then peter? How far out does it cover and until when? Does this mean that anyone catching cod mid-channel this spring is breaking the law? If so - how are they communicating this to the leisure sector??
  22. Maybe.... just maybe.... On a serious note - if I dont take 'my boat' over I'd be happy to crew and show the area's etc that fish - Ive been over a few times now so whilst no expert managed a decent haul last time we went solo without a charter. I can also go midweek at short(ish) notice and would be happy to go with just one or two boats.
  23. WoW!! I havent seen a window like that for ages! If it holds, the decordating will have to wait - I'll be out in OotB. Fingers crossed.

    live-bait tank

I do! If you use a smaller draw pump like a rule or attwood, they draw so little that they can be run all day without a problem. They are also much quieter than a bif deck pump, and rated to run continuously, plus if they break it's
  25. I agree Paul. Mine is set up as a full time deck wash and a bloomin' good jo it does too - very powerful, but with a Hozelok spray end I can adjust the flow with the lever to gentle for when cleaning the catch etc. I use a Rule 500 bilge pump which is attached to the transom for my bait well, moves a good quantity of water without too much pressure - perfect for a bait well.
