They are one of the best small boats around. It can handle most conditions you can throw at it inshore. Regarding anchor, what was it you lost? It pays to have the anchor tripped.

What if he mixes up 20 litres of saltx mixture in a contain, then feed it thru via muffs, let it flush for 30 seconds or so, stop engine let mixture slush around inside abit (say 15 minutes) then start the process again until misture runs up, this process should be enough to soften any salt deposit inside the engine.

Generally it wouldn't matter with a bruce/copy anchor as the shank of the anchor will be over the ring and counts towards the weigh of the the chain.

1m of chain would be a bit short, you'll need at least the lengh of your boat.
