Just wondering how would one riase the alarm, supposed it's not too bad if its a ferry, you can id it but say P&O, but if it's a container ship in a bust shipping lane, if you can read its name, there's not much anyone can do.
I'm sort off 50/50.
One hand I wouldn't mind paying something toward fishing, but how much will the pot goes to pen pushers? I pay to fish, not for some fat git getting
After some more blonde and conger on the 9 miles bank again.
4 blondes, 2 congers and 5 spur dog on the boat between 5 of us. Largest blonde just under 20, Conger to 40 and spurday to 12.
Off day for me, I caught bugger all, although the largest blonde to my name thanks to Colin who reeled it in on his rod for me while it had my hook in its mouth . It took a whole cuttle head.
How old is your Shetland, someo the older one used the washing line and still do if haven't been changed already. The teleflex has an extra length sticking out while the washing line has a spiral cone thingy.
Out with Andy of Silver Spray today. Target species are pollocks and congers.
Didn't do too well with pollocks but managed 4 congers to 40 lbs.
10 pollocks on the boats, largest 14lb, from a wreck 2 hours from old harry.
Surely with such a small outboard, the power required to crank it would't be that much?!
My guess is any old battery will do the job. End of the day even if the battery fails, 15hp is quite easily pull start ( you should try doing it on a 100hp)
There was an extensive thread on battery about a year or 2 ago, try searching for
it.
A car battery is for start up, so good for lots of cranking, while a leisure battery is for slow drawing like caravaning. A marine one is like bit of both and 5 times more expensive.
Most ppl here use the leisure type as they are cheap to buy and cheap to replace, especially if you go for 3 years waranty one and keep the receipt.
Mine was, I had mine wired directly to the second battery with an inline fuse, so even on the drive mine would pumped water from time to time. Can't see the point of having a bilge pump without an auto switch.
The pump was also wired via a switch, so either the auto switch kickes in or it could be switched on to pump water.
