  1. Sounds like the mother plus daugther funeral post a few days ago ......
  2. Pat does like his long drifts ......... Haven't seen anyone who drift as long as he does out off Weymouth.
  3. Yes, it is illegal to use a vhf on land, but doubt they can trace you if you only switch it on for a few seconds, but you will need another unit to test it with. I used to do it with my handheld just to make sure the cables were connected correctly.
  4. So is Alun the winner?
  5. Also have smaller red/white lure if anyone is interested. They come in either 2 or 3 sections, these will be 1.50 each. Similar to these, but I think they are shallow diver.
  6. If by where from you mean where am I, I'm in Andover, 5 metres from the A343 if you ever go via this way. This too is a terrible road if you get stuck behind a trailer with a boat.... that would be you again ....
  7. Judging by the size of the lip, it's a deep diving type. Available as red/white or red/glittering silver. 2.25 each. Similar to this one

    Squid Jigs

Looking at it, they can't be g, it must be the size, I would say they are about 1/2 - 3/4 oz lead which are at the front..

    Squid Jigs

They are the one the tackle shop next to Tesco Express in Weymouth selling at 2.25, I know cos I bought some last Winter . They vary between 3.0g, 3.5g and 4.0g (only a few 4.0g), I think the 4.0g sells at 2.50-2.95, these have 2 extra spike on the back. I suggest anyone want one, get a couple as spare, I used one last Oct and didn't wash it afterward, the small swivel at the top corroded. When I used it on Pat Carlin's boat, he told us to rig it up as flowing trace (or Portland rig whichever) just retrieve then drop, retrieve then drop,....... However, I spoke to the local anglers here, they just tie it to the line and jig it up and down like a pirk, but they do fish shallower water here. PS, the fat bloke isn't me.
  10. I have some squid jigs for sale. Very colourful guarantee to hook you (but I'm sure the squids or cuttle fish will be interested too) . Only at 1.50 each. Much cheaper than THIS I'll throw in an extra one if you buy 10. If you want to catch the giant (well big) squid or cuttles which frequent the Dorset coast, they are a must. Postage at cost if you can't pick them up. Exactly the same as this here.
  11. You cooking a sunday roast or are you just showing off ......
  12. I didn't know you can purchase wrecks? Is the Titanic for sale?
  13. What, you still haven't got the antifouling down? If I were you I will crack the whip a bit more .....
  14. Just tell your good old lady it's a wedding aniversirary present .....
  15. Dame, I missed it. I don't mind reading adult stuff, although just don't tell my wife ......
  16. You need to shout a little louder as Coddy is a little bit deaf since his birthday .....
  17. Why are we talking about hammer? Has this site changed to a DIY tools website?
  18. Then what? Try to flock the regular here?
  19. I thought Cobbs was supposed to be Fort Knox? What happened to the cctv, security devices etc etc .......

    Alderney Ring

The coat hanger is very good at keeping the Alderney ring/anchor buoy from the bow of the boat ( say 10') , You know exactly where the anchor rope is and no chance of running over it. I think the correct way of using it, is to feed the rope thru the small circle, twist the loop a few times, then thru the triangle, and finally 'hang the loop over the 2 corners of the triangle then pull tight. If you don't twist it like suggested, there's a chance it might slip when not under load.
  21. Not bad at
