    Braid Line

I would always soap reel in fresh water, rinse and dry out in airing cupboard, it helps to cut down on salt damage on braid. I tend to use them for one season then turn it over for the next and discard on the third. Haven't have any problem with braid breaking tho, only problem was some 30lb braid from Climate (?) come free with some fishing mag they were sh*t beyond believe, thick and has the strength of my hair, never use them again even if you pay me. Presently I use Power Pro and everyone I know who use them have never have any trouble with them. Not too expensive
  8. I wouldn't thought you need 70lb leader, especially if you are using only 30lb braid, as the difference on thickness is a lot. Plus conger doesn't have rough skin to 'rough' up the leader. Try 50 even lighter next time.
  9. I think Gordon got there before you did. Great fish. Just the way for a pb.
  10. Great fish, what rating mono were you using? I was using 100 and they got bitten off on larger fish.
  11. Too big? Then we've got to see her .....
  12. Not showing you anything, 'this' refers to the title, i.e, multi filament line, what is it?
  13. Lidl had some a couple of weeks back.

    Tuesday 13

My mate finished with 1 spur, 1 blonde, and 6 congers. The other indi I think caught a blonde and 1 conger, mainly due to he was fishing with frozen lance and we were using mackies and I used cuttlefish which attracted most of the congers. None of the rays came to cuttle, which I was trying to prove it would.

The blondes weren't that big, one was about 15 the other about 10.
  18. Chartered on Tomcat fishing the 9 miles bank for rays. Fish from the moment we arrived, but unfortunately it was a snake pit, never the less great fun keeping us into fish almost nonstop for most of the day. 2 spurdogs, 2 blondes and 1 thornie all day, 8 congers to 45lb, 4 of them were 35 plus. All on my 10-20lb solid carbon rod and little Avet reel with 20lb power pro. Lost 3 when they bit off the trace (100lb) and 2 lost on the surface. A little cold but calmish, good to be back on water again.
  19. That I got to see, any photos?
  20. Nope, no messagem just a big empty space with a little 'x' on the top left corner, same as when a picture won't load.....
