  1. The answer is never. It doesn't matter what you carry, the chance is that when you really want a particular piece of rope, it's always back at home in the garage.
  2. Naaah Mike that won't work. Instead of blocking up your engine with salt crystals it will be pubic hairs! One have to assume one has any to start with .......
  3. How long do you flush the outboard? Generally I flush it for 10 mins when back home, but that's because after the long tow back the water is dried into crystals. However, first thing back at the slip, the whole housing would be pretty wet and it shouldn't take long to flush it out with clean water.
  4. The beauty of this is that it doesn't have to be vented, the container is made of very thin plastic, it just crumble into a heap easily.

Reversing isn't a problem as the plates are relatively small, no enough to drag the boat down , futhermore, one is only likely to reverse at low speed, unless you are planning to reverse the boat at 15 knots or so, it won't be a problem.
  6. There's a limit on value as gift. As a receiver of the package, you are liable for any tax and duty on it.
  7. The boat looks good, but haven't heard of a cap ferret before, who made them?
  8. Was he geared up to the job? I've seen some of the yachties wear everything including the kitchen sink when the weather is bad.
  9. Yes, drum on gunnel which is same level as ourboard.
  10. He might not mind, but think about all those girls he will no doubt be trying to woo will think about a bright pink tub.....
  11. Here's a UK dealer https://secure.aspidistra.net/novuraniaribs/order01.asp
  12. Just want to make sure the p-hole water stream doesn't have to be strong when flushing? I figured that water is needed to cool down the engine plus most importantly it 'lube' the impellor proventing it from melting!!! Since most of the launch place I have used don't have hose to flush out the outboard, I made a mobile flushing kit using a 20 litre drum, a length of garden hose and a flush muff. Tried it out today and it worked, but the water wasn't coming out as strong as it is direct from the tap. It took nearly 5 mins before it emptied the 20 litre drum.

    Plaice

Some of the chartered boat catch plaice and turbot around the dolphin sand from time to time. I saw a turbot and a plaice caught on one of our trip.

There is a dealer who sells the smart tab here, if you goto the smarttab website they have the contact details. If you visit iboat forums the person who make them (but not sell them) will answer any questions you have. His name is NauticJohn and he' very helpful.
  16. But Mike maybe he's colour blind.....

    Hi

Dan, what's you boat, and how big is it? It looks small, but then you're a big lad.
  19. Alun, only if the seller has open his Paypal account to both make and receive payments, ie., using a credit card, otherwise he could have just opened an account with a bank account to receive the money. This way he's long gone after emptying his bank account.
  20. Thanks Gordon, but mine is 4 in a role and standing with the inlet on the top. The only way for air/gas to escape is thru top of side gaps.
  21. I spotted those auctions back in Nov, big Penn reels which sells at Ebay USA for around $1000 being advertised for peanuts from China. Seller has no +ve fb, and the seller has only been a Ebay member for weeks and not sold or bought anything until the Penn reels, you have got to be suspicios, if a deal looks to good to be true, it's probably a fake. Using Paypal does not entitle you to compensation automatically. They have to be approved seller or something, symbol of paypal next to their listing. I bought a reel protector from someone before x'mas for
  22. I have both on my boat . The main wrap comes with a ring spliced in so I kept that, don't have any problems running that thru the alderney ring. The only problem I ever encountered was that I lost my first anchor and chain when the rocking motions of the boat 'unscrewed' the pin. Now I tied the pin down with a small bit of wire thru the hole on the pin. My spare wrap, which is octaplait and thinner, I splied that into the chain simply because I was afraied of losing another set. Plus I felt like doing it at the time.

    Phuket

Just make sure when you are in Bangkok, you don't 'Bang' any kok.....
  25. My 4 in 1 mould does that, I over come this by not clamping the 2 side tightly, the gas escapes from the gap and yes I do get a flappy bit round the side, I just cut it off with a pair of scissors.
