    Chicken Power

Kam Sorry if you've seen it before, (another slapped wrist for me)

    Chicken Power

A Bear, a Lion and a Chicken are sitting around talking. The Bear says, "When I growl all the animals in the forest are frightened." The Lion says, "When I roar all the animals in the desert are scared". The Chicken says, "That's nothing, if I cough every body in the country s#@

    Antifouling

Poole Harbour is fairly brackish due to all the underwater springs and the 4 rivers that flow into it. When I first launched my boat I used a cheap antifoul and kept it on a trot mooring at Rockley from June 2000 until Sept 2001 (15 months). When I took it out we had to scrape the fouling off with spades, then they got the tractor to push it all back into the water. I'd estimate there was approx 2 cwt of barnacles. The worst job was removing the small white bit the barnacles left behind. I learnt my leason the hard way, never again!! I now antifoul every year with International Interspeed on the hull, International Trilux for the outdrive and boot-topping.

    Sikaflex??

I would certainly screw it near the leading edge, because if it started to come away whilst you're motoring the water pressure would probably peal it off.
  5. What's your definition of a "time waster"? Is it someone who looks at it, decides it not what they want and don't buy? What's your web page address? I'd like to see the photo. I've just tried the link from your profile, but it doesn't work, appears to be a mixture of a web address and an email address.
  6. We'll probably pay it for them, we appear to be the only country who comply with every law, even the stupid ones!!!
  7. I heard the children were on the boat, and the dad was putting the trailer away when the boat got blown away from Baiter. Sounds as though he launched it and expected it to stay where he put it without anchoring or mooring to something!!!! Sounds like a lucky escape.
  8. Would your insurance cover getting it done professionally? Regards, Brian

    Anchors

They apear to test the Rocna very slowly compared to the others. It goes so deep it must be a pig to retrieve.
  10. I got the Fladen multiplier, had to strip it and turn up a new bush as the handle was very wobbly. Not bad now for a freebee but completely useless as received.
  11. The "unused slip just near the lifting bridge", used to be, and I assume still is, owned by Pilkingtons, used to be used by their employees. The "concrete platform going into the water" that you refer to at Hamworthy Park, sounds like the old cooling water outlet from the power station, used to be a brilliant place to catch Bass when I was a boy, as the water was nice and warm. 12. Paul If the pickup wire wraps around one of the plug leads, should work on any 4 stroke engine regardless of number of cylinders.
  13. Agree with Tom, the Coastguard was in the wrong, even if he wasn't as it was obvious the other boat hadn't seen him he should have taken avoiding action. Looked like a case of "I'm bigger than him, so I'm not slowing or turning".

  15. Sent my response.
  16. Figment is in there as well!
  17. Martin, just a small point, I think you meant "top right".

    Gauge

I fitted a digital one when I reconditioned my engine. I bought it from Force 4. Here

    River Frome

I should have added "Don't let the bailiff catch you fishing from a boat.

    River Frome

No, only the headroom at high tide and the shallow water at low tide. I keep my boat up river from the bridge.
  21. I would have thought it's a bit late in the season for flounders that far up the harbour, more likely to be much nearer the entrance, possibly Jerry's Point, Redhorn or Evening hill.
  22. Not unless they've moved Cuba a long way East of where it used to be, and put it somewhere in the western Med!!
  23. I suppose it's a case of waiting for the tide to drop a bit, and then drive the jetski back in!!!
  24. Think of all the research you'd need to do!!
  25. My usual practice is to tell SWMBO where I'm going and what time I'll be back. Sometimes I might tell the Coatguard I'll be in the Poole Bay Area for the day, but it does mean having to remember to sign off at the end of the day.
