  1. What a great catch and release fish Shame about the pictures , have we any photo shop experts that can clean the middle one up? It would be well worth the effort. email the original to me Chris [wchapman212@ntlworld.com] I am far from expert, but my brother may be able to help. IMHO your efforts to return the fish deserve a nice picture to send to the mags and remember her by. I am sure it would be possible to cut and paste the water and sky to remove the finger blur. It would be a great picture to send to BASS, the Club is affiliated. They love our catch and return results and your fish would definately interest them Charlie
  2. Nice one Ian I will be very happy to help. Come on guys thes really do look the dogs watsits, Bids please Charlie
  3. Sorry Graham But most boats have a fendering strip bolted to that flat surface to protect the boat and others when they come together or rest on another structure. Alfresco and Great White both use extruded D section through bolted to the hull/deck joint. Look on wilks website, but cheaper bought at jumbles, there is usually a guy there selling it. You would not need the size we use so that will save money. A fair bit of work to fit it, definately not a one man job, but a nice finishing touch. Charlie
  4. Nearly there Graham , well done. What fendering are you thinking of using? I have just put a link on another thread, they supply all sorts, but you can get cheaper at jumbles http://www.wilks.co.uk/Marine/BoatFendering Charlie
  5. Try a search here http://www.wilks.co.uk/Marine/BoatFendering Charlie

Is it a Nappy changing table? Very nice I want one now seriously I would like one of the boards , has Ian remembered where he got it? Charlie
  10. Looks like my old one. Great fishing boat IMHO Charlie
  11. Hi Guys I had a wilson flyer for years. Fitted with 60hp she went well and we had loads of fun and fish on her. Sure they will slam in a chop, but slow down and she will be fine. They are a superb fishing platform at anchor or drifting I changed mine to take out the cabin bulkhead and then she was even better. Have you seen the recent reports in the Magazine from Graham Pullen and his son fishing from theirs, a bright yellow WF17. you can get them on youtube I think under totally awsome fishing or simular Have fun, it will be good to see you out there again Charlie
  12. Best way to know is to charge them up and put a discharge tester on them I did that at Christmas to mine to find out which one of the three was weak, answer was all three That hurt financially, but at least in the coldest of weather I knew that my engine would go. Charlie
  13. Sorry to hear that John I hope that it is nothing to bad forcing the sale. I know that you and Dave enjoyed your trip last year. Charlie
  14. Well done Jamie As I said in the PM , I wish I had been there to see your face Very Very glad to help. Sky is a bit differant than most, there are some bits scattered around that when you swing off the main wreck you actually start to fish them with some interesting results. You will now get bigger and better fish, but it will take a while to beat the thrill of the first good one. Charlie
  15. Nice fish won the March FOM, well done James NIce fish second and lovely to see a kayak angler in 3rd Charlie
  16. Paul The Customs people seem to have accepted the 60/40 split as have all suppliers. People can declare that they are using a differant ratio but they are likely to be the ones checked by Customs. For example a live onboard boat that never goes to see may get away with 100% heating, but a fast fishing boat will not. Accept the 60/40 mate. and just shop for the best supplier. Some Marinas and Yacht Clubs are keeping the prices as low as possible. especially to berth holders. Charlie Charlie
  17. We will be joining Dave in the morning early. Tony , Will and Nigle are joining me Hope to get a few Charlie
  18. Happy Birthday Tony Have one or two for me and I hope that your knee is up to whatever we finish up doing on Sunday. Charlie
  19. We also hope to hop a few wrecks on Sunday We will buddy with Dave and currently have room for 2 more crew You know the drill guys give me a call/text 07887 794716 Out fishing tomorrow to see what is about, so you will struggle during the day But at least we may know how the wrecks are fishing. Charlie
  20. Lovely weather and pictures and some nice fish Did you weigh the rockling as that looks a good specimen, and the same for the spotted [definately is one] Both look to be a decent size for fish that do not grow huge Well done Hope we get a sea like that tomorrow Charlie
  21. Well you can come and sit on it for 4 days in May if you like If I was thinking of doing another, [which I am definately not] I would certainly be taking Alan up on his offer of a trial, as part of the selection process.
  22. Mine Adam Yes likewise mate, we may be on the edge of range but good to know someone is out there Tight lines charlie
  23. Have taken a day off to go fishing with Sam and Humphrey But will probably head for the wrecks Radio will be on 6 Mate from about 7am Tight lines.
  24. Nice thread this and some interesting options /choices put up by Adam. I agree with his words , speed is not everything, it all has to be ballanced to get as close as possible to what you need. We like Adam can do just over 30 knots but stick to about 20 for fuel economy and a smoother ride. That said at 20 knots we have about 1000 revs left in the engine, so have plenty of reserve power if we need it. Maintenance is not bad for us as we do our own, so its just parts. I really love the Cygnus but they are heavy and need some horses to push them along, with current fuel prices I am glad I did not go that way. I like the cats, but the internal layout is a bit too limited on them. without paying a lot for one over about 8 mtrs. Colins is a great boat but would not get you the toilet and bed space you are looking at. Adam also has a point about the standard of finish, that P3 Pro Charter may look like one in the Club, but does it have a double bed and full standing shower room Seriously mate Good luck with your search Charlie
  25. Nice one Trev a proper test and at 1ltr a mile a good result especially at that speed. Charlie
