I use a small 240volt blow heater from shore power for a few minutes before I go out in mid winter. something that trailer boats could do at home while packing the boats However I did buy Wendy a 12volt hair dryer in the summer that was packaged as a demister as well, so I may try that LOL Its something I had been meaning to sort out this year, misted up windows when returning in the dark is a pain Charlie

The longer chain would certainly help, but if it were me I would go up a size on the bruce. and keep the other for shallow use, an emergancy spare or kedge anchor. We use a 15kg bruce [copy] now after starting with a 10kg. It goes in much better [but not always, depending on sea bed, weather and tide] The alderney buoy system lifts it fine. I have improved the alderney system recently by changing the shackle between the warp and chain to a smaller but higher quality stainless one. [ Touch wood] it is now much easier to run the buoy all the way to the anchor, where previously it sometimes got caught on the shackle, and went back down when the power was taken off. In shallow water I still use a 15kg bruce, but off the bow windlass which has only 100m of warp due to the locker size. I hope that helps Graham Charlie

John If it was me I would first check that the gypsy is suitable for rope and chain. Providing it is then check what size rope and chain it should use as you will need to use the correct size calibrated chain. Polyester rope is lovely to handle but not as durable as three strand nylon, which is what both my windlass and my main anchor warps are made of. Well done Dave on hand recovery, an awfull job. We found those excellent in Alderney for the pollack and if you are losing that many lures in teh rock and kelp better on the wallet too. I believe they are still available Charlie

Hi Graham I have found the clue to be what has been shown on your post between the two The problems incurred last time, was I think due to the fact that I had named the pictures when resizing. The names were long and not all was shown when viewing properties. When I had draged to select and then copied I had in fact not been copying the while address including .JPG on the end. I find resizing images to 800 by 600 is best, then I save them to the photo gallery on here. I then open the forum again on a second tab Have one tab open on the thread and the other on the photo gallery, just swapping between the two. easy then to click the required photo, click the image once to get full size up, right click image, left click properties Now where it says address; Select everything from http to .JPG right click and copy Now go back to the thread, click the IMG button [i have to temporary allow scripted window first] then paste the copied URL address in the drop down window [ over the top of the highlighted text. Quick check to see all of the URL is there and then click OK Then add reply It has taken a lot longer to explain how to do it, than it does to do, so I hope it works for you Charlie

Yes guys I would think that any of the sponsors should be pleased and maybe its worth keeping a couple of copies of the mag and SAN to take to more possible sponsors when pitching for next year Charlie

Well we did some Miles to get ours we had two small Blondes Gordon Holt 2lb 12oz Charlie C 5 lb 11oz We sat there and watched White Magic get theres, I think they beat us 5:2 The rest of the trip and a couple of pics will go on a catch report later.
