Wellcome Alan Please dive in and fire away with any questions, I am sure you will get plenty of replies The Clubs open comp is this Sunday as I am sure you have noticed on the Home page, we would love you to join in and fish it. But if that is not possible may I suggest popping down to the weigh in at Cobbs Quay to meet a few Members and say hello face to face. Charlie
-
Dave I now have the seat [in mint condition] and the pedestal [used condition] they are in the car if you wish to give me a call, or I am in this evening if you want to pop around. Charlie
-
Hi Alan Give me a call on my mobile 07887 794716 or my office 738824 in the morning and we can discuss options I have a diver we use often if Cobbs will allow him in the water on site a boat lifter the same as cobbs, but that would be last resort as you would have to motor to PYC and an engineer localy with an underwater camera. sure we can get you back on holiday plans Charlie

Good luck with the sale Mike Sorry to hear that you must have decided to give up on the whole idea of boat fishing if all the kit is going. Charlie
-
Mike if it was me I would contact the company that made the tank to be 100% sure what they made it from and ask them about glue and cleaner. after the repair some weaved tape bandaging soaked in the correct adhesive may add strength, but I have no idea what the access to the damaged area is like Glad its holding up Charlie
-
Hi guys I see that the open comp has made the echo today Page 8 for those interested Well done whoever got it into the press Charlie

Wow what bad luck Mike. As Adam says its hard to discuss a repair that we have not seen, but I am sure with you french and access to an experianced boatyard the repair will be as sound as possible. I would maybe carry as much spare fuel as possible in other containers so that the level in the tank is reduced as you suggest. I am sure that given the right wind direction you would run before the wind if that stops FF healing over. Just remember if it gets worse you could rig a supply from something like a 25l plastic outboard tank [maybe just for entering harbour and berthing] But also consider how you will get the engine spill return into that same tank. I experianced a total fuel blockage on GW once in the wych channel, so I syphoned out over a gallon to a bucket and rigged the engine lift pump inlet flex pipe to suck from the bucket. Engine now running I was surprised that I needed to refill the bucket half way to the Yacht Club less than a mile away. Obviously a lot of fuel was being used to cool and lubricate the engine fuel pump then spill back to the tank. as on that boat a full days fishing only used 5 gallons Max. I feel confident that you have done what you can and I hope it has not spoilt your trip, providing the vent is oK on the tank and the level in the tank lowered I am sure that there is not too much strain on your repair Charlie

That might be the only thing I can do whilst holidaying at PYC if this weather doesn't break! You could always have a paddle around the marina mate

I have just witnessed the launching of Star Turn, we will not mention the slight snags incurred, as the boat is happily afloat and out with the air show. when the trailer came out is was very easy to use a yard hose to flush the bearings via the fittings on the back of the wheels. Charlie

Paul I hope you had a good day and should see you tomorrow. A few people are talking of a return to Portland in September so we may see you Charlie
-
Hi Paul we arrived back yesterday from 6 days and 5 nights on the boat in the solent. The frustrating weather meant that hopes of sneaking in some proper fishing were shelved We had a few fish but mostly mackeral and bream to grill onboard. We even struggled for mullet and bass in the marina's. I hope that you have enjoyed your trip to Poole even though the fishing is slower than expected. Martin, I doubt that Wendy will be on the boat again tomorrow so please have a good day and have a drink for us. Charlie

Whats wrong with Rovers Fans seriously thanks for this, we have had some of these senders playing up at work, and have now been in touch with Ian who is coming down next week. Charlie

I like these two Three-fourths of the Earth's surface is water, and one-fourth is land. It is quite clear that the good Lord intended us to spend triple the amount of time fishing as taking care of the lawn. ~Chuck Clark There is no greater fan of fly fishing than the worm. ~Patrick F. Pretty much what we did Rob Painted several boats with differant AF, noted which had what and compared at 3 month haul out intervals Not that much differance, not always dearest that works best But we now go by word of mouth amongst 400 cruising boats that we take out each winter, off course most are yachts and use self erroding. the faster boats use harder I used seajet this year, so theres a hint. and the darker the paint the better it works mines black Charlie

Jotan is a good hard antifoul but builds up in hard layers and eventually starts to come off in chunks Dave were you using three year antifoul before? Not wanting to be rude but if you were with all that growth last year, its not much of an advert mate. Adam We have done extensive tests on the Club boats [we have 14] over the years and every time we think we have it sussed they change the formula again Recently we have found seajet to be good, not as dear as Blakes or International Pete at Quay West is a good start point Charlie
