Thanks Greg That's a great offer, but I may have to miss tomorrows meeting as its the Yacht Club AGM. In case it finishes early could you please take them with you. Could you also let me know what model no yours are so I can have a look at specs online.

Thanks Mal I saw those online, but thought I would ask for input rather than just accept reviews. Thanks for your recommendation

Hi Guys We are going on a Holiday later this year, to a scenic part of the states and I was considering updating my Bino's to take with me. The pair I have on the boat are fine but they are a bit large and heavy. Does anyone [Maybe the bird watchers] have any recommendations, for compact and lighter ones at a reasonable price. Thanks Charlie

I hope that they are going to mark that before the summer season or it will be a place for a lot of boats to ground

Hi Guys Dave and I have been chatting about the annual trip to Alderney and need to see if others are thinking of going. With the price of fuel and everything else [no regular crew] I will probably accept a space on Reel Magic again Dates seem to be 12th to 15th May With a reserve date of 6th to 29th. Anyone else thinking of going? Or if a couple would like to come with me on Alfresco, please let us know. With things as they are , it probably would only be on if we got a very good weather window. Thanks Charlie

Happy Birthday Toby.

What a shame it looks a nice boat for cruising.

Not long on phone and tablet. Much longer on card updates for plotters

Thanks Jerry Not quite sure what makes my suggestion difficult. But if that is what the committee want, that's what we will do. Like Neil I would appreciate a bit more clarity, on the rules of these few comps

Thanks Jerry In my Diary Will the Specimen Comp in July be run along the lines of the old 48hr comp system? Ie fish any part of, or all of, a set 48hr period. which used to be 1700 Friday to 1700 Sunday. Best specimen to count, regardless of species. Charlie

Hi Some of the boats at work use soft bins to cover the skeg and prop These are used to protect other boats from the sharp edges of the props. The other bonus is the bucket gets weedy not the boat On my stern drive i was dissapointed with the trilux ladt year So i will go back to interspeed as used before. Micron is an antifoul for slow boats as it scrubs off.

Sorry Mal I cannot see that bit about only charging non Members. My thoughts would be to fish for best specimen rather than biggest fish. And maybe have to have some age ranges and allowance for the youngest to have assistance, while older ones do not.
-
Not sure we should be charging for the junior comp. We do not charge seniors and there are many comps open to them Juniors are the future.

Hi,everyone. Having attended the club's visit to the R.N.L.I. headquarters on Monday, I ended up having a mini break, worms it seemed were more scarce than hens teeth at that point so the prospect of a fishing spell looked a bit grim, however, the promise of some on Wednesday led me to encourage Frank to set up a couple of flounder set-ups, I got some local "expert" advice as to where to fish, don't want to give any secrets away but I went to the bottom of a big hill near a prickly foliage bush where there is a lot of nature behind π we duly set up rods for the afternoon, lent on the wall like the norm, a pleasent afternoon around 22 degrees c. Or gas mark 2, I think it was sat in the front of the motor home watching the rod tips from there, that seemed a sensible place to be! Well it soon got even better when the resident cook (the wife ) cooked up a hot meal for us both. We stuck it out till dark and I don't think any of the other anglers had caught more flounders than us. Our total was ZERO! π. Now come Thurs mid day I got hearsay of a flounder finding mission in a boat for friday,so I was pleased to take up the challenge. Being picked up at baiter (thanks Mike) off to get the skipper (Allan) and aim for Cobbs. The next safety briefing I think will start , shut the side door on the van properly Allan! Luckily the glasses in the coat side pocket survived the ejection ! π dodging the ice on pontoon off we set,on the obstacle race, apparently you can see the sunken boats at low water! π€ well we just crept under broken bridges due to Allan's skill and impeccable timing . Soon we were drowning worms and the action started, Yes Mike was on the ball with the kettle π the wind was light and we were slow drifting which made it feel very pleasent, fantastic to be out on a boat. The fish started to turn up, trouble is they looked very silvery, like beautiful bass! Dreaming of what Sunday lunch could be the reality was the bass were heading back to the harbour floor! Are well, nothing wrong with a leg of lamb! After drifting and searching we tied up for the finarlie , with little time left hey presto , my rod twitching to then reveal THE POOLE HARBOUR FLOUNDER !π. At one pound eight oz. My P.B.π with the pending big comp coming up I made sure Allan saw where I put it, but it seems the little rascal went and moved ! Flounders really getting scarce it seems. Many thanks Allan and Mike for a fantastic day out with you both aboard Fisheagle . The coffee, the food ,( especially the pork pie and cherry cakeπ ) the weather, what more could you ask for ? o.K. More Flounders! Good health and tight lines allπ. Colin.

Anyone thinking of braving the big tides and cold weather to go out this weekend. Thur, Sat or Sun Alfresco has not been out for a while, so am thinking of going, to give her a spin. But it would be good to think others are about just in case. I would not be going far on those tides, and have space for crew if anyone is interested. Charlie
