  1. Hi Just to say a big thanks to those that offered help with this. With the help of Jons tools, the job was done at the weekend and the ceiling plastered earlier today. Browny points now overflowing, so can someone turn the wind off please. Nice one, Thanks again Charlie
  2. At least the Kiwis are trying there best, taking the boat and the gear and issuing fines. even though replacing a small tin boat is cheap enough. Wish we had the bottle to do it, a recent case saw a 14m trawler illegaly fishing for bream inside the 3 mile limit fined 17k even though he admitted making about 10 times as much from a seasons illegal bream fishing. Now if they had taken his boat and gear instead of a 10% fine he would not be out there netting again next season. Charlie
  3. Ok Mark No need to rub it in Just because your snapper fight like bream but grow to over 25lb Wishing you tight lines from across the world Charlie
  4. Well done Dave Thanks
  5. Hi Jon you have a PM Charlie
  6. Thank god for that I hope that the wind has eased a bit, its been a long time since I last went along the South Coast on a warship. But 1 day from home after six months away I am sure they will not be letting rough weather keep them from getting to Pompey. Charlie
  7. Thanks again Jon If I could have it on Sat that would be a great help, I believe the weather is OK early getting worse as the day moves on. I am up in Broadstone so easy to pop down to upton at your conveniance Fri night Sat morning Charlie

  9. Good call Adam I am afraid we will not make the 29th That is unless Sam and I can talk HMS Kent into a stop off of Poole. I am joining him onboard at Plymouth, for the last night of his six month deployment and a trip along the coast to Portsmouth. I hope the weather is better Charlie
  10. Thanks Jon that would be great if it comes back If not I will have to hire one just for the one hole Thanks Dave at least I know where I can hire one if I have to. Charlie
  11. Hi all By Monday I need to fit a 150mm ducting kit for the new cooker hood. I was wondering if anyone has a suitable hole cutter that will cut brickwork. I can drill multiple holes and make a hole eventually with chisels, but using the correct tool if I can will be quicker neater and easier. Appreciate a short loan if someone has a cutter Charlie
  12. Back at work today, for a rest after working at home for three days Just checked the bournemouth surf report [magic seaweed] website which usually gives a good indication for what we get. Sat winds peak at 46 MPH Sunday at 47 MPH I think the Cod will be left well alone, and I will be working at home again. Charlie
  13. Well done both it sounds like money well spent I am not surprised that Martin struggled in the flounder comp, he probably spent most of it blasting around the harbour Just goes to show how important the prop sizing can be, I would not be surprised if your fuel consumption also got better. Charlie

  21. What a day an early start , well I thought it was until Dave phoned to say he was passing the chains as we loaded the trollies in the car park. after checking with Dave we proceeded to the wreck, but after 10 miles progress slowed so arrival was a little late. Straight to anchor and big baits, but the early bites were all pout, some deliberatly caught for bait, others just robbing the multiple squid [it is winter ] we had a couple of small eels, then repositioned for the ebb and had afew more. But they were not really feeding in the tide so we tried a few drifts Tom's mate John had a pollack on the second drift so hopes were high, but it proved to be the only one. as the tied eased we went back on the anchor instead of going inshore, but again just a few more straps. We had to finish on time as Tom and I both had commitments, so by 1500 we were having a slow run in, as we approached the banks the weather was a lot better and by the spoils we were at full cruising speed. Perhaps we should have come in a bit, for a more comfortable afternoon. But hindsight is a great thing. I had enjoyed the day,the banter and company were as usual terrific. We will try another spot on another day for Johns first big eel. Charlie

  24. Mick I would get a copy of a bruce at about 7.5 kg The copies are usually a decent price, give Pete a call in Quay West Chandlers, I am sure he will sort you out 01202 742488. These have decent holding power, but should be rigged to trip. So that when you get them stuck around the ledge, you at least have a chance to get them back. Charlie
  25. Jim give me a call later 07887 794716 I am sure it can be arranged Charlie
