  3. We have everything crossed that they are right, Martin gets his engine sorted, PJ gets the all clear from his doctor and we can all get there, for some of the fantastic fishing the islands are famous for. Bring it on Charlie
  4. Nice game We hope to go out late morning Sat and try for early bream to the West, maybe pushing out a bit[??] around slacker part of the tide. Would love to have come with you Tom> But not sure where you will be by the time we set off, as we need to wait until Dan finishes his driving lesson at 11. PM me the numbers and I will see if I can find you Just three of us going so I have room for another. If anyone fancies it call, pm or post. Charlie
  5. Big tides again over the long easter weekend. But who is going out, when and what do we think are the best targets in these tides. I am working Sunday so that should see the wind drop for the rest of you But the boat went in today so I expect we will sneak out somewhere Tight lines Charlie
  6. Did you say you were going swinging looking for Colin No wonder the misses has left you to it. Charlie
  7. I was going to say thats good news, but really it is not. However it is good that after all this time an end is in sight. Good luck with all the fitting and hope to see you in Braye Harbour. Charlie
  8. Bad news mate No wonder you did not want to discuss on Sat Hope you get a good solution in the end, and it is ready for the Alderney trip Charlie
  9. Sounds like a great day Carl Well done on such a special fish Charlie
  10. Happy bithday Derek Have a good one Charlie
  11. Hi Adam belated Happy Birthday mate Hope you had a good one dispite work Charlie
  12. Unfortunatly we are not allowed my first suggestion But with the evidence pictures you have, a day in court would be a good second plan. Dare I suggest all onboard submit an incident report to the MCA, after all it was your lives that were at risk. Not just a spoilt days fishing. I did so once out of Plymouth , and they do take these reports seriously. Charlie.
  13. Hang Grenade landed in trawlers fish hold??? Thus enhancing the size of the wreck. I supose you can but wish Charlie
  14. Would love to Gordon, but its work for me i am afraid. and the boats ashore so I had better work on her Oh yes , and its my anniversary so I had better make a fuss of the FPO Tight lines Charlie
  15. Well done for getting the tackle back Pete The wind seems to be up for a while, its stopping me getting the boat out now which is frustrating Charlie
  16. Happy Birthday Craig Hope you have a good one Charlie
  17. Way to go
  18. Alfresco is just a bit more per mile we are usually 4 up and fairly well filled with fuel and water with the tide on a good day just over 1 ltr mile on a choppy day and against tide it could be 1.5 or more Last weekend pushed the tide both ways plus some drifting used 1.5/mile Charlie Keep polishing the boat Dean, I am sure Dad apperciates the help.
  19. Well done Guys Nice to hear that all is good, how did the fuel consumption compare to prediction? I am sure you are not as dissapointed with 4 cod as you sound Adam what size were the pollack? Martin I am sure by the time the season comes to life so will AWOL From talking to Dave your engine may have been under power for a while, so there may be no way to keep up with AWOL soon Charlie
  20. Hi Mike happy Birthday mate hope you have a rapid recovery and see you out there soon Charlie
  21. I agree Paul, last nights was dissapointing even for this show. It showed some of the places we visited when we were there. But considering the boats that they were using the fishing did not live up to all the hype at the start Small tope and kahawai [Aussie salmon] hardly compete with Marlin and Kingfish In fact the 2lb Kahawai he caught on the kite would make a good kingy livebait. Charlie
  22. great white

    hi everyone!!

Welcome Kev Jump in and enjoy your Club membership ask what you like on here, you will certainly get a variety of responses Tight lines Charlie
  23. Thanks Adam Interested to know what "Proper Fishing" you are all intending to do. I realise that we will probably be the only ones at anchor, and was trying to get an idea of where others will be so we do not anchor in the way. For the safety aspect I am sure that we will not be too far off the direct route so if we need assistance or can offer assistance to others we will still be in company. I am sure other boats will move from wreck to wreck in the hunt for table fish as we did last year. and hope to do again on day 4 Charlie
  24. Some bits are definatly better than others, and its obviously just aimed as entertainment rather than a serious fishing program. I did not enjoy seeing the spearing of fish, but they were being eaten and obviously were plentiful. Flying to remote spots to fish locations that he had dreamed about for years , I could excuse his over the top excitement. Just viewed as entertainment I quite enjoy it. Some obviously do not but who can think of anything on the telly that everyone enjoys? Rather watch this than soaps Charlie
  25. Flotilla accross depends on what fishing skippers intend to try on the Friday Do you want to discuss here or at the next meeting? I outlined our plan earlier Like the BBQ idea Charlie
