  1. Thanks Brian I have called Adam and Bob to let them know, in case they are so busy with the boat they are not on here often. Regards Charlie
  2. Kam The program last night showed 5 different small inflatable tenders powered by small OBMs leaving the beach and returning an hour later with a bucket of undersize bass. deliberatly targeted for some sort of commercial gain. regardless of the fact that they were unlit in a harbour entrance hence endangering themselves and others or that all were being used by people of chinese origin [No racism or offence intended] The real message is they were not anglers they were poachers of fish protected by the nursary area and something more than taking pictures of them for a BBC program should be done. Charlie
  3. We missed the first couple of minutes but It was interesting to see so many people openly fishing and taking fish You would think that if a BBC reporter with limited night viewing and a cam corder could see 5 boats returning at night with not only fish taken from a nursery area but also undersize. Surely the Sea fishery guys have only to mount a proper observation, take some evidence and arrest a few people and the message would get around the chinese community. Bit of a bloody cheek, one of the "Fisherman" complaining that his catches were down. Charlie
  4. Hi Alan We do not intend to go far on Friday as the tides are much bigger than last week Probably the banks about 5 miles out, target rays and see if any whiting are about. Do not think we will have enough light for much feathering for mackeral or haddock. Lets see how the responses to this post go ref crews, if we get replies we can take both boats if not you are welcome to join us. It should not be a problem I aim to be back here at PYC by 23.30, so if we take both boats 23.45 bridge should be good. Speak later Charlie
  5. With limited availability this weekend due to work, Dan and I are thinking of going out Friday evening on what looks to be a very good forecast. We can not get away from work until 5 which should get us somwhere in the last light to fish a few hours in darkness. anyone else thinking of going out? or does anyone fancy a trip? Charlie
  6. Tom he is "next door" to your office, Go out of your front door, turn left, end of the building turn left, door is the small one in the middle of the big one. beware of the dogs. Hard to help some people on this forum at times I could not get the google earth map for you
  7. Tom ask Dan he should remember how to get there, and he is working next door Charlie.
  8. Tight lines all The weather should be ok, I am working which usually means calm weather. "Let me know what you need me to bring and it will be brung" Quest 2 tom ?? Charlie
  9. Wow I have just read this and am pleased to read of another species in the bay. Well done and I hope they are around when you go there again. and you get the record. I seem to remember catching them in Scotland on feathers, so perhaps a few have always been around in the winter months after the mackeral have gone and the feathers are left at home. Charlie
  10. Dean I do not remember you and Martin ever getting to the marks slowly. Charlie
  11. Once upon a time in a village, a man appeared and announced to the villagers that he would buy monkeys for $10 each. The villagers, seeing that there were many monkeys around, went out to the forest and started catching them. The man bought thousands at $10 and as supply started to diminish, the villagers stopped their efforts. So the man announced that he would now up the price and buy at $20. This renewed the efforts of the villagers and they started catching monkeys again. Soon the supply diminished even further so the offer increased to $25 each and the supply of monkeys became so scarce that it was an effort to even see a monkey, let alone catch it! The man now announced that he would buy monkeys at $50! However, since he had to go to the city on some business, his assistant would now buy on his behalf. In the man's absence, the assistant told the villagers. "Look at all these monkeys in the big cage that the man has collected. I will sell them to you at $35 and when the man returns from the city, you can sell them back to him for $50 each." So villagers rounded up all their savings, and bought all the monkeys from the assistant. They then sat back and waited for the man to return from the city. However, they never saw the man, nor his assistant, ever again... only monkeys everywhere! And so my friends, you now have a better understanding of how the stock market works. Charlie

    cod

    Nice to Know Thanks Charlie
  13. Let me guess it didn't say lads the first time I will post catch report Charlie
  14. Hi Alan and good luck with the trip The tides look much kinder than they were when we went in May. We are not available this weekend but dependeing on what type of fishing you have permission for I am sure that the mid channel wrecks would be worth a look. some of which were visited in May. If I was going I would probably have a look at the area around the RIPs as well to see if any cod are still about , a bit East of track to the CI but not far from the course for France. I would probably be taking the fishing more seriously but I think perhaps wrecks one way and RIPs the other would be my plan If its just a bit af angling in the CI that you fancy why not check out Marks lastest reports on Alderney Angling or give him a call. We had great fun on light gear for pollack. a mile or two from Braye in the eddy out of the tide. Very tight lines Charlie
  15. Thanks Dave Sorry I did not see it earlier, Look forward to having you and Gordon Onboard tonight. Charlie
  16. My brother does a lot of road miles and now drives a car running on LPG He is pleased with the cost of the fuel and even though the litres/miles is not quite what he hoped for its a big saving considering the miles he does. Converting any boat is really down to the maths the cost to convert the number of miles/hours you actually do in a year the savings expected per mile/hour. then per year and how long it would take to recover the conversion cost. Also worth considering is where else you can buy LPG, or probably more important where you cannot get it. I know a lot of people who have looked into converting inboard petrol boats to diesel in the past, but none that have done it. Charlie
  17. Weather permitting Dan and I hope to sneak off work an hour early on Wednesday and make use of a potential window in the weather and neap tide for a few hours at anchor. We hope to be away by 1700, and aim to be home by midnight. Fishing area will not be more than about half hour steam from the entrance. exact direction may be dictated by the weather. If anyone can make the times and fancys an evenings fishing let me know. Charlie
  18. Good luck with the sale mate I am sure she will appeal to many looking for a fast stable family sport/fishing boat. and good hunting for her replacement whatever it is If you and/or Dean need some seatime while you are between craft give me a bell Charlie
  19. Dave It was agreed last night that it would be moved a week so it would not Clash with another comp and be on smaller tides. Adam will supply more details when he can Charlie
  20. Well done guys Good toss to win Bob Really pleased that all works and all the ECU's are talking Dan was really pleased to hear and equally pleased not to be in your garden, if Bob was having one of his hugs and kisses moments I am sure you will soon work through the list and move her to Parkstone Bay. We look forward to seeing you on the briney. Charlie and Dan
  21. HI Rob and Dan I have tried both The resizer works on all old photo's but not on the ones from the mobile nor does the other idea, I had better wait for a reply from Samsung for info the pictures on my weymouth post were reduced on the phone then copied to the pc. Charlie
  22. I have moved the pictures from the phone to my Pc at home and here in the office. Saved them in the normal way as jpegs no problem. The problem arrises when I have edited them and reduced the size to add to a post, I can not save them In paint I get the message "Paint cannot save this file save was interupted, so file has not been saved" I have checked pictures from my camera and pictures from sams samsung phone and they edit and save, but not the ones from my SGH-G600. I have now reduced the size on the phone, but that only has limited options so makes them very small. Thanks for your help guys Charlie
  23. Thanks for that Next question how/where do I get Photoshop from?? Cheers Charlie
