  1. Hi all For info you are allowed to fish any seven hour period between 0600 and 1800 Please book in prior to the event and I do not mean phone me at some unearthly hour on Sunday morning So far there are only a few names but I am sure with this weather others will be out there Tight lines Charlie
  2. Hi All sorry if the timing is not good I did ask if anyone had a problem with the fishing being on Fathers Day The general response seemed to be that the fathers would find it easier to get permission to go, and with family membership there are more wives and kids as members so go for it tight lines all who fish Please remember to book in prior to going with Pete or Myself to let us kn ow who is going and what 7 hr period you are fishing.. Charlie
  3. Great fish well done I recieved your report thanks I have found crosses hard to read on the side of the boat Much better to set a shore transit from something easily visable like a parked car with some thing closer like another anchored boat or a friendly gull. seriously there are big eels and undulates on that ground so your slow moving solid fish was likely to be one of those. Charlie
  4. The bigger Shimano Calcutta after changing the main drive spindle when the reel took a knock its always has a problem with the auto engage/release button Its been serviced twice in wales which cures it for a while, but I would like to be able to DIY it, as I do with all my other reels Great reel apart from that problem but its corrosion resistance is not great Charlie
  5. Very good point Now that inspections [That were very hard to arrange] are a thing of the past it is down to the owners to check and maintain our kit I am as guilty as others about this but it is very important that others follow Martins lead and check the safety equipment. By the time the new boat is in my flares and fire extinguishersmay have become out of date Charlie
  6. Nice one Trevor Now you have to decide wether to eat it or use it for bait. How did the engine go? and tell the missus the pennant really looks good Charlie
  7. Great fish Alan and the same size as last seasons biggest recorded Bass with the Club But there is a lot of time left to beat this one Charlie
  8. Thanks Paul Dan enjoyed his afternoon trip and it was great to see you win the comp with such a good fish Charlie
  9. Nice pictures Love the one in the sea with the eel Charlie
  10. Nice one James as I said when you reported in, well worth all the effort Just shows that you do not have to fish 48hrs to win though. Paul phoned me on Friday while It was still light to say he had the winning fish and he was right Charlie
  11. Please send catch report or PM me Charlie
  12. Wel done I await catch reports Charlie
  13. The tides have been chosen to allow a lot of scope on a comp with a variety of fishing available I wish I had time to fish If I was going out even for a short trip I would pay the entry money just in case. any of the areas you mention will provide good specimens, and have provided a few Club records so the good fish are not all in Alderney. Give the comp a go Mike, if you win it will make good story material Tight lines Charlie
  14. Hi Guys First let me apologise for missing this post as it developed. I have just called the NFSA and guided around their site to the current Specimen list Another apology I was unaware that the list had been updated in Dec 2005. Our area is area D and as far as I can see the only changes are: Bream Gilthead is 2lb Gurnard Red is 1.25 lb Mullet Thin Lipped is 3.5 Lb We will be fishing to the Current NFSA sizes to all competitions including the one starting in 2 1/2 hours time. Paul can you please update the forum. Back to Plan A Duncan Paul can you update the website please Adam Bob if this has made you size calculator defective sorry if you need a hand on Sunday call and I will attend the Mariner. Tight lines all Charlie
