Sorry Guys Peter and I were both on mobiles and I had not double checked dates Perhaps it would be better to fish our Bream comp next weekend and look to see when we can re schedule the Burnham lads. Please post thought about fishing on the 28th, a Bank holiday sunday. I do not think we can double book the 48 hr weekend, so the bream comp will not be fished on June 4th. Please pass the message around. Sorry for any confusion caused Martin/Adam can you call me to discuss dates I am at work this morning Charlie

Hi all after checking with various weather sites and checking the TV weather Peter and I have postponed the Bream / Burnham comp We do not consider the forecast to be good enough to fish even the inshore grounds. Due to possible Family commitments by Members over the bank Holiday weekend we have decided to postpone by 2 weeks to Sunday 4th June I hope that the Burnham lads can still come down Its a shame but its safety first Charlie

Or perhaps its time for Fred to fit another gadget and fire back LOL Charlie

Hi all The weather as usual is playing a blinder I have spoken to Martin and Adam and a final decision will be made on the Competition tonight. It sounds as if individuals are already deciding keep an eye on the Forum someone will post the decision as soon as its made If we reschedule it will be soon so the bream are still available, If that means Burnham can not re-schedule on the same date we will worry about that later. I was putting a more personal tint on it Duncan Our boats are the same size, and I would of thought that range safety would know the range was foul and not shoot. Do not want to spend hours and hours [as Fred did] fitting out the boat to be taken out by "Friendly Fire" That said I have seen enough Naval gunfire to know that if they could hit a 30ft boat at that range it would be a lucky shot. [although I doubt if Fred would consider it lucky] I have a few marks within the range area, so I will need to check the Number James posted on another thread, next year before going there. Charlie

Nice of you to shoulder the blame for another member (when I/we missed the channel !). I had not realised that Stuart was charging so much. Charlie
-
Fred were you taking incoming at Dancing ledge area? Or have I read the post wrong and you were in the range area. still a worry if they were using the range with a boat the size of yours in it. Charlie
-
Thanks for the number James I had thought you had one to many zero's but I have called them and your number is right. If you are interested they are fireing to 1700 today But as the forecast is force 8 I doubt there are to many boats fouling the range today Charlie
-
Dave just to add another spanner in the works Have you onsidered Dry Stacking the boat? I am not sure of costs but it can be done at a few places locally, and as you are paying storage it may be an option. The boat is not in the water so avoids the corrosion and anti fouling problems Staff launch and retrieve the boat at a booked time and while not in use its stored some insurance companies reduce premiums for it apparently. I obviousl Antifoul my boat and houndreds of others at work so if you want advice or a chat on what we use pop around. Charlie

A Good Day For Fish A Bad Day For Tackle
great white replied to fisherman1055's topic in Catch Reports
My deepest sympathy Tony, bloody awful when the gear goes overboard. Peter should have entered the dolphins comp as his best would have been a winning fish, but hindsight is a great thing. Charlie -
Hi Paul I get the stolen boat bullitins at work be email I could forward them to you if you would like to post them for info Charlie
-
James Now if you start hauling specimen tope and Hound I will start to pine for a trip and may even get tempted away from boat building for a day. Tight lines mate Someone has to get the tope trophy now that GW has gone, and I suppose the conger trophy as usual. Charlie
-
have you been sniffing teh gripfill again Mike? You need to get out fishing mate. Charlie
-
Nice one Alun Its a hell of a place to fish but not for the faint hearted or a novice to try on his own. a good plotter on a big screen would help I think The daytime fishing is good and night congering used to be very good Charlie

When I last looked at google earth I believed it to be up to date but on checking the yacht club it did not show the changes to the marina that are now 4 years old the pictures may be a lot older than you think try looking at west bay or even your house to see which car is on the drive? Charlie

Thanks guys I expect you can guess where I will be and what I am up to after getting the cooker and sink last week at Beulie the galley moulding has been cut to size at last. As that part will not fit through the door it had to be worked out prior to fitting other items. a sequance of jobs has now started, including SAT fitting the bow roller fitting, then the first length of 75mm fender to ensure that the fixings are in and excess length removed prior to fitting the back bulkhead and galley SUN Final fitting of the stbd side of the Back bulkhead, tack in Fully glassed in just prior to going out for "all you can eat" chinese meal Mon Late start open a few presents and recover from All you can eat. Start to fit and bond in Galley unit She is starting to take shape now and will really change when the windows arrive in a few weeks I hope you have a good birthday Dave and are a little less busy than I am Tight lines to the lads in alderney Charlie
