  1. What are MDL Cobbs Quay doing at the moment?
  2. At work we have to follow RYA interpretations of the Gov guidance. As I type they have told us that recreational boats can only be used from public places. Apparently Clubs, Boatyards and Marinas are not public spaces I have had to send out notices stopping Members using their boats but it may well change again unless it does, much to our disappointment when there are toothy critters about, Alfresco will have to drop out. The Marina Manager cannot tell his berth holders to stay put and then bugger off fishing.
  3. Thanks for the reports guys Glad you had a good day
  4. I am afraid that date is still in lock down guys
  5. Picked up some frozen bait on my way past wessex on my way home yesterday. just in case
  6. With all of the changes I need to be at work tomorrow. Tight lines all that can get out keep the reports coming, we would all like to know what is still feeding out there after the recent rough weather. Charlie
  7. Has the upcoming lock down killed this one off?
  8. May take you up on that Colin At the bottom of my garden I have a very big stump of an ash tree where it was felled two years ago just above where it divided into two above the ground. I have fancied using a chainsaw to carve it into a bench type seat.
  9. I have made a few leads in the past, in various colours but I have never noticed a difference in catch rate to be honest. using the coating on lures, seemed to be a better use for the powder
  10. The boys up the road would have loved that Chris Fast descent's and Boat assault's were always a fun thing for them

  14. Hi Jerry I see the forecast getting worse every time I check. Are you still hoping to fish this weekend, regardless of the weather. To be honest I would rather postpone by two weeks to the next set of smaller tides in November, but that is only my opinion the decision is rightfully with the committee.

  16. What a great post Ian Another skill that I did not know that retired Army personnel [PONGOS} were capable of. Credit to all of those educational hours in the various rugby club libraries. It was my pleasure to have you back on Alfresco again, the food was great, your company and stories very welcome and keeping the LSD away from my baits priceless. I hope that we can fish again on the competition weekend, Covid 19 and Weather permitting. 😀😀
  17. Happy Birthday Stue Have a good and safe one mate 🍷🍷
  18. Boats like that have been selling very easily this summer. Sam and a Member at work had to get there ones from Middlesbrough and Newcastle. Pop it on Boats and Outboards and I am sure you will get a buyer Good luck Pete

    Flounder rig?

Wow Brian I recognise that, I had one on the wall in my workshop at RM Poole. comes out of the survival kit in a Navy 25 man liferaft. Actually used one once in the Indian Ocean when we ran out of shark rigs. I took it home when I retired from the RN, last year I took the hook off of the chain and up to Norway as a flying Gaff. Dave did a great job with it on my big flatty
  20. A Blast from the past. May have to have another look and dip my toe back in.🤣
  21. Thanks Andy I have used webcreate for years to transfer the info from my Lowrance plotter to and from PC and Laptop. Lowrance uses Navionics card. Also use the Garmin one from my other plotter to from the PC/laptop when I first had this boat I used to spend hours researching numbers and collecting marks from other fisherman and Divers, so much so that Lowrance is full. LOL I had Navionics on my phone and tablet for a while but that is not very user friendly in my opinion and I would rather use the plotters. It can be handy to have though, we got a bit of info from it last year when having a beer in the evenings at the fish camp at Skerjvoy in Norway Its just the system to transfer the information with SD cards that does not appear to work as well as it used to
  22. It asks for a mobile app Jerry, have you done that already?
  23. Thanks Dave Does anyone know how to see a lat long position on this?
  24. Thanks Lofty
  25. Hope he doesn't think that COD are easy to catch Chris. Nice one Mate
