  4. Hi Paul Welcome back mate Hope that you can make the trip, if you stay longer keeping the fish in good condition may be a problem Charlie
  5. Big G The fishing sounds great, you should tell us all about it some time. AGAIN Would you like me to ask Sam about his travel rod, not sure that the extendable handle has come out for a while, but we should be able to free it up mate. Give me a call or text Charlie
  6. Nice one mate when are we going up for a spot of shark fishing someone has a good fishing boat. With a solid pedigree can get all the toys on the new one now
  7. Good luck with the sale Craig And the hunt for a more trailable replacement. You and Putts are always welcome with us pal Charlie
  8. Well done Sam I knew that it would not take you long to get the ball rolling I hope that a reasonable number of Juniors can be encouraged to take part. Come on guys get the kids names down. Happy to help where I can, on the boat or ashore Charlie
  9. Thanks Matt and Dave Been let down a bit with the lockers arrival, so will have to wait a bit longer to test the waters for fish. Charlie
  10. Sounrs good Nigel Hope to see you out there again really soon
  11. Happy birthday Jacob I hope we see you out there fishing soon.
  12. Are the wrecks fishing yet Matt Not heard much up here
  13. Thats good Steve Be carefull opening that gap Thats the biggest problem with my bow capstan, if the feed into the locker backs up the rope jams between the gypsy and the guide. Tools are needed to remove the guide. Hence all the effort currently going into fitting a sidedeck capstan
  14. Now just get to the boatyard and help Dad with the boat Then we can go out and try it before Alderney Thanks to all that have given Dan advice on this Whhat a great Club this is
  15. Hi adam I am having a locker and door made that will be a little larger than I need so I can cut it down to fit the hull shape Glad your work is goong so well, seems strange not to have been out since mid Jan Charlie
  16. Hi Adam I too need a locker for the new capstan, I could make it up myself but after a visit to the guys building Daves new boat I have ordered one from them. May be an option for you too mate. I am sure your time is very tight with the new job and all. Charlie
  17. We have a lot of radios at work We have tried many set ups over the years Icom seem to be the best we have had. Three year warranty helps with the hard use they get. Charlie
  18. Nice when it all starts to go back on Chris I am hoping the locker for my capstan will arrive soon But while I wait there are a list of annual and one off jobs to crack on with. I quite enjoy working on the boat, but would rather be fishing, Its thoughts of great trips like last years Cherbourg trip, two good days fishing in calm weather, that keep us going during March maintenance.
  19. The boat is ashore for her annual maintenance Yesterday the boys joined me, while I cleaned her topsides and cabin tops, Sam scrubbed and rubbed down the antifouling (not a nice job) Dan used his experiance from Purbeck marine to remove the stern drive, as he is the best out of the three of us at getting the DPH drive off it did not tke him long Will joined me today to get the polish out for the rails and topsides Thanks for all of your help guys, we achieved a lot in two days and she was shining in the sunlight when I left. In all that wind, maintenance was about all we could have done this weekend Got to get her looking smart before Daves new offshore arrives in Poole Charlie
  20. Have to agree with Neal, its down to fishing pressure on what is an easy target for the commercial sector Commercials will fall back on any species that is worth money and easy to get. But in this case it is also down to pressure from RSA sector Lots of boats surround the bream marks in summer not all limit the number of fish taken as our Members do This was where I had hoped the fish would get some protection under the new protection zones, until we all heard how toothless they are. Charlie Do you think that there is anytthing we can do as individuals or as a Club?
  21. Was saddened and surprised to see the pictures I think that is a spurdog by the look of its eyes My thoughts were I doubt its a local guy as they would probably have sold the fish to the potters
  22. Happy birthday Craig Hope that you and your family are all well buddy.
