Just had a chat with Dave They have been out fishing on the banks today after a later start Six turbo,s onboard, three keepers Bait caught for a longer spell on the banks tomorrow. The boat is going very well and Dave is very pleased with the fuel consumption on the trip so far Shame that more of us could not join the trip, but we hope to get there later this year. Charlie

Arrived at work to see Reel Magic sat on the transporter ready to launch into the harbour Before long the yard team were lifting her up, getting ready to launch The stern gear is very impressive to an engineer like myself I have a video of the launch that I will add when I get it off of my camera, and soon Dave was at the wheel of his new toy I was admiring some of the temporary plotter screens (the 12" ones have not arrived yet) when Dave swung the TV out for me to look at (how posh is that) She is a true fishing boat, the engine sounds great and goes very well, but on top of that she is loaded with boys toys and is very well finished off. I am sure Dave and all of us lucky enough to get an invite will have some great times on her. Before long Dave had to leave to take her under the bridges for the first time, and load her tackle onboard for her maiden fishing trip, off to Alderney in the morning. He did a great job of turning her around in the Marina Hope you have a good trip mate, look forward to hearing your reports Tight Lines

One very happy mate phoned me earlier after reports of a good sea trial Out of the workshop Into the water At Portishead Then off out to the Bristol Channel I remember now why I choose to live at Poole, I was bought up fishing in the murkey waters of this area Nice one Dave Looking forward to seeing her in the morning. Then dropping her into the cleaner water of Poole Harbour so that you can go and have a play Charlie

Well done steve We were wrapped up yesterday, as you say not short weather, but worth it for the smile on your mates face

Well after the full trip was postponed and a day inshore on Sat, mondays forecast looked more promising We are getting a bit too used to the 0500 alarm call Nigel had accepted an offer to join Dan, Will and I for a day on the wrecks, so at 0600 we gathered at the boat and set off to RV with Kingfisher and Tigerfish 30 odd miles offshore. The day started very well with several weighty pollack and a few tasty cod. After loads of wreck trips trying to get a double figure fish Dan passed that mark last year, today he upped his Pb a couple of times This is now his new one Before long all of the lads had fish over 11lb Chris and Chris seemed to be doing very well on their pirks on Kingfisher, I believe that they had even larger fish and a couple of double headers. Tigerfish had moved a little further off, we are not sure how the rest of their day went. By lunchtime we had enough pollack and decided to look for more cod on other marks, all our efforts were in vain We had a great day, but were tired by the time we got back Good job we did not catch that lot on the way to the islands, not enough room or ice in the fishbox's lol

The eagerly awaited arrival of Dave's super new boat is very nearly here. Dave has sent me a few pictures and asked me to put them on here for Members to have a look at. You can see that the builders are doing a great job and I believe that Dave is being very sensible by giving them the time to finish her to a very high standard Looking forward to seeing her in Poole soon Dave
