  1. Thanks Kev I bet you missed Jacob today, they keep you going dont't they. We had a few eels today including 1 specimen and never needed more than 1lb of lead, so we had a good trip enjoying the nice weather. I bet it was lovely in holes bay in the sunshine. Come on boys , how did you get on?
  2. Should not need your ear plugs Jim Jacob is not going, enjoy the peace Kev Tight lines all
  3. Its a small Island so I expect that they have to balance the needs of many against what would just suit just the visitors I have been visiting the Island for 26 years and the main problem may be the laid back nature of the islanders. They could do better with the facilities that are already there but seem content not too. Try getting something to eat in a pub after 2000. I hear thet the Braye chippy has shut, I believe that they have tried to close the doors against visiting angling boats, without taking into account the revenue to the Island from these regular visitors. Marks shop on the quay has gone, and we used to spend a fortune there LOL Apart from the obvious berthing benifits and bathing facilities perhaps there would be a deeper water fuel and water facility. Although a small Marina like this may well fill up quickly it should have fringe benifits One to keep an eye on Charlie
  4. Well done Tony Brian and Stuie And of course the Club for supporting this charity

  22. Thanks Neal, an interesting read I remember a few years back a lot of discussion about specimen sizes, especially that congers over 100% being easy to get Maybe the same could now be said for flounders, but I know what I would rather fish for. Well done to all of the Members that got in the top three. Lets hope that the wind drops soon and we can get afloat Charlie

    Lead melting

Hi Mick Do not put anything wet into a pot of boiling lead mate, it will cause a steam bubble that is very likely to blow back molten lead. I saw the results of this once, it was not pretty. According to the angler with the burnt face, The cheap leads were not worth the pain. I keep my bits of lead in an old sack in the garage to make sure they stay dry/dry out fully before I use them Charlie

    Lead melting

Glad that you have the gear sorted Mick Just remember to wear the safety kit and ensure all of the lead is dry, as you do not want it spitting in the pan. Charlie
  25. Happy birthday Kev Have a good one stay off the roofs in this wind mate Charlie
