Reminder about next week end 48hr competition 1 Court Jester - Neal Sturt + crew TBA 2 Alfresco - Charlie Chapman
-
As Kam has just said, put your names down as crew or ask for crew. I am sure you will get some nice friendly club members to help. Try putting yourselves up for the 48hr competition Bank holiday weekend. Come along to a club meeting if possible and speak to a few members to see if there is anything you can do to improve your chances of success. Neal

As others comented - weather conditions made fishing a bit challenging! But at least the sun was shining. Result for Court Jester - 11 Species Jim, 5 Species, Mackerel, Scad, Dogfish, Tope, Ballan Wrasse Neal, 7 Species, Mackerel, Dogfish, Red Gurnard, Tope, Ballan Wrasse, Corkwing Wrasse, Pout. Dave ( Non member) Mackerel, Blonde Ray, Bass, Ballan Wrasse, Corkwing Wrasse, Pout, Pollack. Neal
-
Just trying to keep it simple for everyone! List the number of species per individual and the total number for the boat. Neal
-
As long as more than one person is on the boat (for safety reasons) that is ok Neal
-
1) Court Jester - Neal, Jim, Dave 2) Alfresco 3 Kingfisher
-
General rules apply. Maximum 3 hooks, maximum 2 Rods per person - most species caught per boat. I am in the process of writing a set of rules for competitions - to save any future confusion. This will be separate from the constitution changes / clarifications that have been highlighted recently.

This coming Sunday we have a Species Hunt Competion Planned All those interested please add your names below. 1) Court Jester - Neal Sturt plus crew if anyone interested!
-

I think it prudent to wait for a period of more settled weather! I know people want to book / allocate time off in advance - but I also don't want to keep cancelling competitions. With this in mind it will probably be either end of July or sometime in August - I will try and give plenty of notice. Neal
-
Happy Birthday - hope you have a good one Neal

Early call............... The weather looks absolutely pants again. So competition postponed. A new date will be set when (if) the weather finally improves enough for us to get a whole wekend to go at. Cheers all - hope we get an improvement soon - now that the drought is officially over! Neal
-
If the forecast remains the same - and not even a 12hr window presents itself the competition will be postponed A decision will be made on Thursday evening. Neal

Please register your intention to fish the comp by adding your name below 1) Neal Sturt

Struggling with the weather and family commitments, today was the only day I could get a proper fishing session - practice for this Fridays Poole Charter Skippers Species Hunt. An early start with Stuart as crew saw us out of the harbour by 7.30 - knowing that rain and wind was coming in by lunch time. Wind had already started, so decided an inshore bank was the best option. Anchor down and Stuart straight in.................to himself!! with his mackerel feathers. Soon sorted thankfully and strings of mackerel followed. Dogs, dogs and more dogs then a couple of small eyed rays, several tope, a tub gurnard to me and the biggest one I have caught at 2.5lb. Then a grey Gurnard - another first for me. Plus a couple of good size bream. Fishing continued until the tide went slack.......then came the rain and the wind increased - so time to head back in. Good session with a continuous stream of fish over the side - just wish the weather could have been a bit better - not really what you would call a summers day. Neal

One Small Turbot to show for our endeavours - which went back and b****r all else other than dogfish. Note to self - must try harder. But the weather was fabulous. Glad to see you putting Mark on the fish. Neal
