Andy has larger Charter boats involved - he may have a reduced number of entrants. I am mindful of the safety of Club Members. The weather on the weekend of the 5th and 6th is looking good for fishing (at the moment!) The Poole cod comp is scheduled for the 6th and as mentioned it is a neap tide. So.... best option Fish the flounder comp the following Sunday - the 13th Neal

Sorry guys - got this one wrong! Every forecast I looked at said 15mph minimum - gusting to 25mph Even when I looked last night. This morning - nothing and was ok up until 4.00pm when the rain hit Bugger - and I went out and then caught my first flounder for years and years! Neal

I think you have all seen the weather for this weekend I am calling it off - I will re-schedule for next week end, although the tides are less favourable. But I want the Hamper won before xmas. I hope you can still make it next week end and that the weather improves. Cheers Neal

Hi Andrew, This was a problem I kept having with my Arvor 250 ( although others don't!) But it does depend on the type of ground you drop the anchor on to. To stop this happening to me, I increased the size of the anchor ( a Bruce copy) to 15kg and have now got at least 200m of anchor warp. I doesn't wander very far any more but it is a bit of a beast to haul in - especially by hand! Neal
