An old Pilot sat down at the Starbucks and ordered a cup of coffee. As he sat sipping his coffee, a young woman sat down next to him.. She turned to the pilot and asked, 'Are you a real pilot?' He replied, 'Well, I've spent my whole life flying biplanes, Cubs, Aeronca's, Neiuports, flew in WWII in a B-29, and later in the Korean conflict, taught 50 people to fly and gave rides to hundreds, so I guess I am a pilot.' She said, 'I'm a lesbian. I spend my whole day thinking about naked women. As soon as I get up in the morning, I think about naked women. When I shower, I think about naked women When I watch TV, I think about naked women. It seems everything makes me think of naked women.' The two sat sipping in silence. A little while later, a young man sat down on the other side of the old pilot and asked, 'Are you a real pilot?' He replied, "I always thought I was, but I just found out I'm a lesbian". Terry

Taking that many rods, you must catch an awful lot of fish. Terry.

We wouldn't want it this easy, would we? Easy Fishing Terry.

Have a good one, Tony. Is a fine meal planned to celebrate by any chance? Terry.
-
However, the other two onboard are quite keen on Turbot so there may be discussions. We did have an initial plan but I'm happy whatever bearing in mind the crew changes. Just happy I'm going fishing. Terry.

I'm thinking of my usual annual spring pilgrimage in search of plump spotties. Monday could be good, perhaps see you there Adam. Where can worms be obtained these days? Terry.

Talking of being married for some time............. Yesterday my wife Dilys asked why I didn't do something useful with my time. She suggested I go down to the senior center and hang out with the guys. I did this and when I got home last night I told her that I had joined a parachute club. She said "Are you nuts? You're 64 years old and you're going to start jumping out of airplanes?" I proudly showed her that I even got a membership card. She said to me, "You idiot, where are your glasses! This is a membership to a Prostitute Club, not a Parachute Club!" I'm in trouble again and don't know what to do! I signed up for five jumps a week! Terry.

Good luck with that, then. Could be fun and I can show you what to do with your flies. Terry.

Not sure how they got jumbled like that but at least they're on there. Terry.

Just a small selection. Terry.

Well, Cuba's definitely a Good Thing. Sunshine, clear skies, blue seas, plenty of good food, meeting some new friends and seeing the delights and marvels of Havana. Oh, and I went fishing a time or two as well. For any one interested, the fishing is varied and on the lure side, a lot more varied and prolific than I am used to. I had barracuda up to 50lb (according to the guide), one tarpon, guessed at 50lb before release, permit, snapper, yellow tail, grouper, triggers (bigger and more colourful than ours) and, my personal favourite, bonefish on the fly, biggest 9lb. My God! Do those things go! I had the fly line and 200mtrs of backing and on a couple I could see the gold colour of the spool appearing through the line. All in all, I can't wait to go back. I did a lot of research and have a database of the best guides, best flies and lures, tackle required, phone numbers and emails to book in advance, etc, so if anyone is going, I will help where I can. How about a Club trip? Different to Weymouth. I will append photos as soon as I transfer them to this main computer. Terry.

Right chaps, for the next two weeks the fish are all yours but don't catch them all. Tomorrow morning I am off to sunny Cuba for just over 2 weeks and am I ready for it. Fly fishing gear packed for the bonefish, spinning and botton gear likewise for permit, baraccuda, jacks, etc. Dilys has plenty of books and sun cream so I bid you all farewell, without the hint of a smirk. Terry.

Did you know that you have the right to speak to a UK person when you call a company for a service or whatever. I've done this when I simply couldn't understand the person talking to me. But I never realised that this is a proactive way of bringing jobs back to the UK. Do the following when you phone any customer service operation that is based in a foreign country. I have done this twice and it works! Any time you call a company about a problem with a credit card, bank account, computer, product, etc and you are answered by a person in a call centre abroad, e.g. In India, try this: As soon as you realise that the customer service person is not in the UK (you can always ask if you are not sure about the accent), please very politely (very politely - this is not about trashing other cultures) say, "I'd like to speak to a customer service person in the United Kingdom." The rep might suggest talking to his/her manager, but, again, politely say, "Thank you, but I'd like to speak to a customer service person in the UK .." YOU WILL BE IMMEDIATELY CONNECTED to a rep in the UK.. It only takes a few seconds to have your call re-directed to the UK . Tonight when I got redirected to a UK rep, I asked again to make sure - and yes, she was in Swansea. Imagine if tomorrow, every UK citizen requests a UK rep, how that would impact the number of extra UK jobs needed. Imagine what would happen if every UK citizen insisted on talking to only UK phone reps from this day on. Remember - the goal is to restore jobs back here at home - not to be abrupt or rude to a foreigner. Terry.

Bargain! I took 4 wheels and tyres to our local centre and they wanted
-
Perfect for Alun, I would have thought. Terry.
-
Just as a matter of interest, Martin, if you take it to the dump, they will charge you. I know, I've tried it. Apparently it's because there is a charge for getting rid of tyres as they have to be processed. Terry.
-
Only if you put your name down, Tony, as I didn't. Do we have another Tony going on the trip? Perhaps Paul D signed for you as he is on the list. Terry.

Just to update on the food front, Marais Hall booked for 12th May and The Moorings for the 13th May. I have booked 20+ at both but will need more definite numbers 2 weeks before. Terry.

Quite understand Tom, plus you take your dining room with you. However, for those who are wondering about the cost, I have had a fixed price menu submitted from the HL which has a good 4 selections for starter and main and includes dessert from the a' la carte menu and cheese and biscuits with coffee.

There appear to be about 30 folks travelling to Alderney in May and 16 have so far booked to eat with the party. Are the rest of you having an 'alternative party' or just being stand-offish. Join the in-crowd and get your name down. Terry.
