  1. Hoorah! I rather assumed this would be the case. Terry.
  2. O/k, worth doing now. I'll let it run until Thursday and then book on the proviso that we can cancel within 48 hours without penalty. Add yourself to the list and update or let me know. To confirm, it's booked for Friday 7th May at 19.30. Mrs. Sea x 2 (Greg doesn't know yet) Awol x 3 Abode 2 x 2 Sweet Chariot x 4 Joint Venture x 3 Wight Magic x 4 Alfresco 4 Serenity x 2 Quest 2 ? Total confirmed so far, 24. Should make a good party. Terry.
  3. Charlie, I meant a la carte as opposed to table d'hote. That is ordering anything from the menu rather than a fixed meal. The boys can have what they want. And on last years showing, they won't be disappointed. Terry.

Update having spoken to the hotel. They have a function on Saturday night (8th) so I have provisionally reserved for Friday night at 19.30 and they can take up to 35-40 people and we would have a room to ourselves. Due to dietary needs and fussiness, I have suggested

Tom, there were cheaper options on the menu other than the lobster. Terry. Update having spoken to the hotel. 7. I love it when a plan comes together. I do my connections a couple of times a year as part of routine maintenance; doesn't take two ticks and worth the effort. Especially important after a bit of a lay up. Terry.
  8. Mrs. Sea in, Awol already noted and Abode added; Alfresco and Wight Magic possibles. Any more for any more? Terry.
  9. To help people make their minds up about a meal, if we book for Saturday night (a last Hurrah!) and we don't go on Thursday, that gives the statutory 24 hours notice for cancellation without charge. Any reassurance? I've only thought about booking because of potentially large'ish numbers. Terry.
  10. I assume by the lack of replies that there is no interest in a 'dining out' night at the Harbour Lights. In which case, unless it got lost in the other posts, I will forget it. Terry.
  11. Well, I don't want to talk too soon but I have just checked Wind Guru for the Channel Islands (Guernsey) and I like what I see. Nuff said! Terry.
  12. Castletown's a good launch, Paul. On a Monday, you will probably be able to park your car and trailer on the road as the residents will be gone to work. If not, drive back the way you came in, cross the roundabout and you should see a disused pub on the right with plenty of parking, no probs. That is, of course, if they haven't started development. Terry.

    Birthday

Many happy returns Kam and tight lines when the fish eventually arrive. Treat yourself to a take-away tonight. Terry.
  14. PJ, the stuff I use is Servisol Super 10 Switch Cleaning Lubricant. 200ml spray can,
  15. Might be worth getting some connector cleaning spray and attending to your terminals. With exposure to salty air, they do have a tendency to lose conductivity and the spray will sort that out. Terry.
  16. From the dining experience of those who went in June last year, do we want to book at the Harbour Lights Hotel for one evening? For those who weren't there, we had mussel starters (some king prawns), a fabulous lobster main with a Jamaican spicey sauce filled with shellfish and 2 bottles of wine for
  17. If you're thinking of the Needles, you'd be better off launching from Christchurch or Mudeford. That's my usual launch spot with my 165 and you're welcome to join me/buddy up from there. But, join the club as a first priority; you will gain far more than

    Rod Tubes

I must have missed the punchline! Terry.
  19. Obviously ebay are embarassed, the item appears to have been removed. I missed it. Terry.
  20. Happy birthday Craig, I hope you are having a good day. 51? You must have been a cradle snatcher. I hear from my son that it is raining in Bristol so, no change there then. Terry.
  21. ..........and a picture. I'd be interested to see the changes you've made. Terry.
  22. An elderly man in Louisiana had owned a large farm for several years. He had a large pond in the back. It was properly shaped for swimming, so he fixed it up nice with picnic tables, horseshoe courts, and some apple, and peach trees. One evening the old farmer decided to go down to the pond, as he hadn't been there for a while, and look it over. He grabbed a five-gallon bucket to bring back some fruit. As he neared the pond, he heard voices shouting and laughing with glee. As he came closer, he saw it was a bunch of young women skinny-dipping in his pond. He made the women aware of his presence and they all went to the deep end. One of the women shouted to him, 'we're not coming out until you leave!' The old man frowned, 'I didn't come down here to watch you ladies swim naked or make you get out of the pond naked.' Holding the bucket up he said, 'I'm here to feed the alligator...' Some old men can still think fast! Terry.
  23. Or is it the Midsomer or Jessica Fletcher syndrome? Everyone who comes into contact ends up in the pooh. Terry.
  24. Yes, I too have launched elsewhere and all is still fine. Make sure you service your brakes before fitting as, if the shoes are lingering a bit, the heat generated will melt the plastic jets in the drum. They are very easy to fit and you won't be disappointed with the extra investment. Terry.
  25. Provided there is space in the backplate to drill a hole for the jet and space around it for the water to spray around. Terry.
