  1. Compared to 16 tonnes of bream, that's very small beer. Terry.

    Help

I'm doing exactly the same job; I borrowed mine from my local friendly garage. Terry.
  3. With mine, Adam, I undid the screw and use my airline with a standard trigger operated gun on the end and pushed that into the hole to make a seal. The air pressure is enough to open the valve and inflate it. You don't have to push anything through the valve. Terry.
  4. I have to agree, Charlie, so am I. Terry.
  5. Nice plaice Alun, well called. I wonder if they're on the Shambles yet. A bit early, I know, but you probably thought that about the Swash. What sort of condition was it in? Terry.
  6. My word, thanks for all the input, chaps. Harry, yes I am unless I decide on a weekend in Poole; service Saturday, fish Sunday. Rich, don't make me invoke the Dark Forces; scoff at your peril! For the others, I'm not actually replacing the existing one, I'm fitting another one to accommodate the inlet pipe and cable from the exterior bilge pump to the bait tank. But I will remember the advice when I do have to. Terry.
  7. That should be fairly difinitive then. Horses mouth and all that. Terry.
  8. Thanks for that, Dave, just what I'm looking for. Terry.
  9. Does anyone know the proper name for those 'witches hat' things that route cables from the engine through a waterproof grommet? I need to get one and can't find it anywhere on the internet. The right name would probably solve this. Terry
  10. Being naturally cautious, I think a call to Warrior Boats is in order. BTW, cheque's in the post, Adam. Terry.
  11. Agreed but, the new terminal etc., will be started this year on the site of an abandoned harbour area. It's got to be worth suggesting as it's easier to include something at an early stage rather than later. Perhaps the developers could be persuaded to fund it. Terry.
  12. I see on the news today that Poole Harbour Commissioners are going to improve the facilities so as to be able to accept larger craft, i.e., ferries, etc. Car traffic over the water has increased by 20% in the last year (what's happened to the tunnel?) and Poole wants some of the action. The 'Britannia' is arriving today, I understand, this being a larger craft owned by Brittany Ferries. Would this be a good time to ask for a decent slipway to be included in the plans? Terry.
  13. Certainly can, or try on line, bearing in mind the additional postage. Terry.
  14. You should have a rest now; too much excitement. Terry.

    Boat Bloopers

Great. I think the kid starting the outboard and ending up in the drink took the top prize. One or two of those had to have hurt. Terry.
  16. This shouldn't be in Jokes really, it's far more tragic than that. Terry.
  17. It's in Accessories, Mike. Start, Programmes, Accessories, Character Map. I expect you missed out Accessories. Terry.

    Boat Talk

Thanks for that, Paul. I'll look for the correct one as I'm about to do the same job myself (switch courtesy of Adam). Terry.
  19. Many happy returns, Duncan; give my regards to Florida. I do like to see you youngsters catching up. Terry.

I'll take the spare switch, Adam. PM en route. Terry. BTW here's Bobs article on a different site Bob's Bits
  21. What makes it even easier, Jack, is when you get to the Start, Programmes, Accessories, Character Map, right click the Character Map link, select Send To and select Desktop. This will give you an icon on your desktop to quickly select symbols at all times. Terry.
  22. Here, here! Terry.
  23. You're meant to laugh at it, not comment! Swine! I won't waste intellectual humour on you lot in future. Terry.
  24. You have to admit, it wasn't so bloody special for the jellyfish, either. Terry.
  25. From several years of experimentation, spray on is nowhere near as satisfactory on exterior clothing as wash in. It's o/k for things like tents, etc., but the wash in is far superior, especially with breathable fabrics; the spray covers and blocks the membrane. Terry.
