  1. Sorry to hear that, Mike, I was looking forward to meeting you at last. Best of luck with the op, of course; recuperate quickly and get back amongst us. Similarly to Paul, thanks to Tom for giving up his valuable time (how he ignored the queues of people, I don't know). It was a good opportunity to have a nose around the new 585 and, as a bonus, the 625. I will resist the temptation to make any comments now and will save myself 'till after the sea demo next Saturday. Having had a dry viewing, I'm really looking forward to seeing what the 585 can do. Terry.

  3. Two down, two to go. Terry.
  4. Not if he wasn't alone! Terry.
  5. I think someone's got an early Christmas present. Let me see, does it begin with, "come and have a look at this, Veronica" and end with "How much?" Terry.
  6. You forget, I can fish anytime the weather plays ball. It's not like I'm restricted to school holidays or something! I am, however, interested in this boat and it seems a good opportunity to get a breadth of opinions. Shame, though. I was thinking of coming down Thursday, doing the club meeting and then Friday boating; two birds with one stone. Much as I'd like to see everyone, the meeting isn't worth the B&B! Terry.
  7. Animated knots Brilliant. Just checking. It's Explorer 7 that's doing it. Terry.
  8. No probs for me. Terry.
  9. I took the liberty of mailing Dave Barham of BFM to point out the feelings of the average angler in our club and include his reply for your interest. 'Hi Terry, thanks for informing me. I was going to respond, but I can
  10. No, doesn't work. PBSBAC is a site for which I allow Popups. The message I get is 'Error! You must enter a URL You must enter a title'. I used to click the hyperlink box and another box would come up where I would enter the details. What's changed? Terry.
  11. Great, something to look forward to in this period of doom and gloom. Now, you must excuse me, I have to make an appointment with my hairdresser and stylist before I face my public. Terry.
  12. Well, at least you both got out. The harbour doesn't really seem to have got going this year. Having had a day out, I shall now wait until some settled weather. At this rate, that will probably be after Christmas! Terry.
  13. Can someone tell me how to enter a website into a thread. I used to be able to do it but something's changed. Everytime I press http:// I get the message that I must enter a URL. Where and wassat? Terry
  14. Done. Terry.
  15. I gussed at 3mm because my 10-20lb was 2.5mm. I look forward to learning the real figure. Terry.
  16. One down, three left. Terry.

    Abu 6600c3

With all this talk of Solid C rods, is there anyone out there who would like an Abu 6600C3 lever drag reel to match one for Christmas? I think they're a tremendous reel for bream, whiting, etc., having been introduced to them by Alun, who I believe has 2. They match the solid c rods to perfection. I wanted another to match my current one and, through over enthusiasm on ebay, ended up with 4. If anyone would like one, brand new, in the box, guaranteed, I'm looking for
  18. If you recall from the previous thread, Mike, we had input from BFM to the effect that, with the new editorial team, things could only get better (cue for a song). And like mugs, several of us decided to give them the benefit of the doubt. Not again! Let those who spend all their time globetrotting and chasing exotic species pay for the editorial jollies. I shall wait until someone produces a magazine that is relevant to the type of fishing I spend most of my time doing. As a matter of interest, Trout and Salmon has many articles about fly fishing in the caribbean and other far flung options but is balanced by as many again on British rivers and species. This is acceptable, although they are filling up with many more adverts. Will BFM have yet another rethink? I doubt it, they're onto a good thing with the free holidays, etc. Giz a job! Terry.
  19. Paul, I took mine into a local tackle shop and they had a guage to determine the size. Most of them have these as they come with their initial stock of rings. Hope this helps. My guess would be 3mm. Terry.
  20. Thank you, I'll keep myself at first readiness. Terry.
  21. Please let me know when it's available for viewing/demo, Tom. Terry.
  22. I am getting the feeling that I am subsidising these people having a much better time than me. I don't think I'll be renewing my sub, I'll put it towards a few extra worms. Terry.
  23. Yep, bags of revs and power to boot, only trouble was it was all put to burying the bows! I use the Turning Point type of prop that doesn't have a rubber thingy. It has a polymer insert which is attached and, I don't believe, can come loose. No, I don't think there's any doubt that the trim tabs were to blame in some way but, I don't know why. Or why then. How can a tight turn have a lasting effect?
  24. Good thinking, Kam, but it was fine on the early outward journey when it was colder. Can't be discounted, though. Terry.
  25. I've got no problem with that, Mike, that's what I did, but it took a considerable amount of thrashing to achieve lift off. My point is that it hasn't done this before and has been running fine on the settings. It's not even as though it was rough in the harbour; it was near perfect conditions. I will take some of the pressure off the tabs and see if it does it again. Terry.
